I'd you're looking for a convenient beach to Gallilee part of Narragansett this may work. Although in summer months it's always crowded. At any time of year it is a great spot to watch boats coming into port or heading out through the Harbor of Refuge.

This is where the largest Tuna Derby in the world is held every year. Fantastic fun to see them lift these giants up by their tail to weigh them. Lots of professional fishing and shrimping boats have berths here. It is also where the Block Island Ferry departs. Two great restaurants - George's and Champlain's are located here. Salty Brine Beach is right next to Georgia's - grab some chowder and clam cakes and take them to the beach - now that's perfection!

Small fishing village. Shops and restaurants line the main streets. You can take the ferry out to Block island, eat as much seafood as your stomach can handle, bring home a keepsake ( or five......) Nice relaxing day, with the beach right in front Of George's of Galilee, can't go wrong.

it needs better parking, and a Connor store, you can walk to the light house if you want. theirs a few little shopps, along the main street.

This is where you can arrange to go out on a fishing boat for the day. You can also buy fish and lobsters right off of the fishing boats. There are some shops, but they need to expand. The Block Island Ferry is here. There is ample parking for that, but there are charges involved. There is also a small beach (Salty Brine) by George's Restaurant. It's a different kind of place for Narragansett that is a very beach oriented community!

Very scenic fishing village! The people are very friendly, tons of fresh fish and shell fish. Loved watching the boats come and go through out the day. Great place to visit!

Enjoyed numerous visits to Galilee. Nice small beach, rocks to fish from, a few excellent restaurants. Very quaint fishing village close to the house we rented for the week. Enjoyed eating at George's and Champlins. Bought whole fresh lobsters and crabs right from the docks. That was a first for us and lots of fun. Interesting talking to lobster fisherman. Some are friendly.. some not so much. We went to a Seafood Festival in town.... was disappointed no seafood to be found to try! This is where the ferry leaves for Block Island. Nice day trip.

There are several restaurants for lunch, dinner whatever and some cute little shops. It's a nice place to walk around in.

On your way into Galilee before you turn at the stop sign in front of the lobster place on your right is a fabulous place to go clamming!! We parked with a few other families on the main road and had a blast!

The place seemed very run down and dirty. We were supposed to spend the night but decided to find a better place up in Narragansett.

This area gets very packed. There are retail shops, restaurants and beaches. Lots of people head down here for a visit. It's a cute place to stop and visit!

This town is so cute. A few little shops, lots of places to relax and view the water. Not a lot to do, but I can't wait to go back.

This is a great side-trip in the evening. Really cute fishing town and if you go in the evening, you can walk along the boat docks and probably talk to some fisherman bringing in their day's catch. It's really fun for adults and kids to watch them bring everything in. We had ice cream at Champlain's but the best part is you can buy right off the boat fresh seafood from Champlain's and bring it home. The restaurants in Galilee are just okay but you are really going for the experience of watching the fishing boats. At night on a nice summer night, it is like a picture perfect post card with all the fishing boats, water and sunset. Really beautiful. And a little stroll on the beach tops off a perfect evening. Not much shopping, just a few stores but they do close early.

Ferry Wharf fish market is amazing and delicious salt pond oysters shucked outside. Also Gorges is great ask for a blanket for your lady and the chef might be a whale

They have two main businesses: a real fishing port, with all the support services (fish processing, shipping, boat maintenance), and the Block Island Ferry. The ferry generates a ton of tourist business. But the town is small and easily walkable. A nice occasional diversion.
