Scarborough beach is a great beach for all ages but especially for teenage to young adults. Heavier surf and bigger waves then Roger Wheeler beach (Sand Hill Cove). Scarborough North is the original beach and Pavilion dating back to the early 1930’s Scarborough South was added in 1980’s when the state purchased Olivo's and Lido's beaches. Both North and South beach have Pavilions with concession stands, bathrooms and coin operated showers, picnic tables, the beaches provides concrete Boardwalk with Gazebos and Observation Tower. North provides Electric vehicle charging station while enjoying the beach (4 hours max) South provides RV parking on there lawn parking lot. Large paved parking lots located at north beach ($$) while large lawn parking is available on the South beach. ($$) Well trained State lifeguards on duties during the summer months. Open daily 9am to 6 pm seasonally. No Animals allowed. Beach cleaned daily. Located on Ocean road.

Ever since the state of RI "closed" down these beaches it has been accessible in all seasons. No crowds even I summer but don't tell anyone, we like it this way. Not as close to downtown as Narragansett Beach but close enough to favorites such as Aunt Carrie's and Spain.

On of the largest beaches around with good surf and a fair amount of facilities. If you like the kind of big beaches that southern California is famous for this is about as close as we get.Lots of great restaurants in the area as well.

There is a wide, clean beach, pavilion, and cool ruins to explore. Tide pools along the beach, although I didn't get a chance to explore in the rain.

They don't charge by the person like Narragansett does. They just charge by the car. Some people pay a little more and bring campers for the day. Lots of day time cookouts with their own portable tents set up on the large lawn areas.

We went to Misquamicut so often we wanted a change since we left our trailer year round in the general vicinity at a place called, "Cards Camps". The sand here was much finer and softer and it was less commercialized. This was many years ago, I am reading that it has become more commercialized now but I will tell you I have many fond memories here. We always liked to go to the Coast Guard House restaurant nearby also. I live in Florida now and love the beaches here and am stuck on year round sunshine regardless of our little bouts of cold, but I can always say there is something different about the beaches up north that I still relish. SORT OF VISIT: For Everyone!!

Nice beach with very soft sand, loved how clean the beach was. I think visually, it is very interesting with the shell of an old building and the border of sea grass along that helps to hide the road from view.

$28 to enter? We figured by getting there late in the day, we would not have to pay as much. Beach was clean, lifeguards on duty. Bathhouse could have been cleaner.

We really did enjoy swimming in the waves and building sandcastles here. But, despite the "Bring in, bring out" policy, there is a bit of trash on the beach (be prepared to pick up a little extra on the way out!). Dogs are NOT allowed on the beach during the summer season, although it seems that in the mornings and evenings, people on the northern end of the beach ignore that rule. Lifeguards are there 9 AM - 6 PM.

There was a strong odor which could have been attributed to low tide or the abundant seaweed. We were relatively close to Black Point so maybe that is why it smelled so bad. It was fun walking the trails and seeing the dark, sparkly sand.

Nice enough place. Good facilities with food options. There was a lot of seaweed from two feet out to about seven yards offshore, but the sand was nice, surf was decent, and water was "warm enough" (70). I would go back, but would not mind checking out other spots. Parking charge is what it is, I guess.

This was a lovely, clean, sandy beach and not too crowded at all. People on beach were considerate and friendly. Only problem when we were there was a lot of yucky seaweed in the water--but I guess that's preferable to jelly fish...

the beach is always kept clean as well as the facilities. We have vacationed there for many years. It is a great family area.

My friends were moving out of state and wanted to visit the beach before they moved. This beach is about an hour from my house and I'd always heard good things about it. We arrived fairly late in the day, but parking was still available. We paid $28 for the three of us; this included parking and admission. There were lots of campers and people with tents set up. It looked a lot like beach tailgating. There were large, clean restrooms with showers, as well as a place to get food (including some yummy fried dough for $4). This was nice and we ordered fries, soft lemonade and the aforementioned fried dough/ doughboy (which was "jumbo" and the three of us easily shared). The beach itself was very long and had lots of space. We went at low tide, so getting a spot on huge sand was easy. There was seaweed, but overall the beach was clean. The water had some nice waves for boarding and there was a cool rocky area to explore. Though there was some traffic, I will likely go here again at some point,m

My wife and I arrived bright and early at the South pavilion at Scarborough Beach.First of all there is plenty of parking, and there is a $20 charge for the day which I thought was reasonable for such a beautiful area of Rhode Island. You have easy access to beach from the parking lot.The on sight snack bar has plenty to choose from including ice cream, fried foods, burgers, dogs ect.The beach itself boasted big surfable waves and a soft powdery sand which feels great on your feet.We brought our own beach chairs and cooler, not knowing you are able to rent a lounge chair for the the day for $10.Bathrooms,showers and changing facilities are right next to snack area.We loved this beach and will return soon!
