On our way to a concert in Flint MI, we stopped for a golf game at Fore Lakes. We had the early tee-off on a very brisk fall morning, and were one of a small handful of golfers that day. The course was still in great shape, and the fall colours were beautiful. It would have been nicer in warmer weather, but we stuck it out and played the whole game - it rained on the last two holes. The course is nice, but there are several holes that are laid out more difficult than they really should be. I guess it makes for a great challenge to more expert golfers, but for the average golfer, it can seem a bit unrealistic (eg. the first hole is just crazy). But the course does have some wonderful views, is very well kept, and seems to flow together well. But's what's with the super big cups on the same green as the regular cups? wierd. Maybe I need to try it again in better weather.

Three of us played on this wonderful course yesterday. Conditions were excellent but pace was incredibly slow for mid-afternoon on a Thursday. There is water everywhere but the course is very fair. I recommend two rounds if you are coming for one day only. The facilities are excellent for food and events.

If water, and lots of it, gives you the jitters on golf courses, don't play Fore Lakes. Four large lakes dominate this property and come into play on about 14 holes. There are a couple of holes (11 and 12 in particular) that leave you guessing somewhat where you are going as the tee shot is over a marsh area to a blind landing zone. Hole number 1 also is a bit strange and can be played as a par 4 or 5. After a 200-240 yard tee shot you either must go for the green at about 200+ yards over water most of the way of lay up about another 100 yards and still be faced with a 150+ yard shot over water. If you get by the quirks and water you should enjoy your round. The course was in good shape (mid-July). Price is reasonable at about $60 with cart and the staff are friendly. Generally a good day of golf at this water world.

This was the setting for a wedding. The staff were quite professional, seasoned and skilled. The meal was well portioned and tasty. The setting and veiws were inviting. The designer had a great idea in mind in bringing this into fruition.

First hole is a killer. If you've never played the course before, plan on hitting one color ahead of your usual.Fees are very competitive. Conditions are very good. You'll find a friendly pro shop staff, a terrific starter and very accommodating marshals.Make sure you bring a lot of balls. Some holes are not for the feint of heart...don't hold back on your swing over the marshes on 11 and 12. Wait till you see the Par 3 17th. Hit 1 club deeper. And don't forget to enjoy this place.

Attended a wedding in late December. Staff there were extremly rude and made the guests feel uncomfterable. A group of elderly female staff stood by the bar the entire time whispering to eachother and giving dirty looks to guests. Not a hospital environment what so ever.

If this course was in Wisconsin, it would cost a minimum of $75 with cart. Cost only $29. Water on every hole. Beautiful shape, fairways were beautiful, traps were well maintained, huge and beautiful greens. Great turkey sub on the turn. Staff was very friendly. Best bargain in MI. Loved it. Wish I was still playing there.

This course offers so many beautiful views of nature. The grounds are well maintained. I paid $20 for this course on Lastminutegolfer.com for a round of 18. This price made it worth the 45 minute drive for this type of course. The staff is friendly. I could not tee of the First Hole because there was a wedding going on. Which I totally understood. I would not want to be saying my vows and then hear someone curse because they had a bad shot off the tee box. If I lived by here I would be here once a week. The course is really challenging with a lot of water hazards and bunkers. Bring a lot of extra golf balls with you.

Another great round of golf, even if it was the hottest day of the year. Greens and fairways in excellent shape. They really keep an eye on this place. Clubhouse lunch and beverages reasonably priced and staff is very friendly. If I didn't live in Canada I would be a member here!

My friends and I played Fore Lakes Golf Club near Port Huron on July 11th. To start with the course is pretty but it was kind of ruined right off the start. We had a deal to get free range balls and the woman behind the counter was not very nice to us and was trying to not give us our range balls. Then, when we went to tee off at the first tee the starter asked where we were from and when we told him where we were from he put down our city and asked if it was still there which irritated us before we even teed off! He also tried to get us to play from the white tees since we are over 50 but we normally play from the black tees on harder courses than Fore Lakes. (I think my tee shots of mine & my friends about 280 down the middle shut him up!) I also paid $2.50 more for a burger than my friend did and the service there wasn't good either. They need someone else running the course that treats the golfers better. - The course was pretty but a lot of the traps had gravel in them. We will probably never play there again because of the way we were treated and they had never even seen us as yet.

Beautiful location. Outstanding wedding venue and wedding manager (Kathy). However, the restaurant needs attention. We tried the all you can eat prime rib and fish on a dew occasions now and each time it gets worse. Tonight we walked in to a packed waiting area while there were many empty tables in the dining area (red flag). We sat at the bar and waited for our table for 45 minutes...only to notice the hostess seating newcomers. The bathrooms are dirty, the kitchen is slow, the hostess and wait staff are running around without direction. The bartender also serves as a waitress, which really slows things down. I've been to many restaurants and I know what it looks like when a place is headed downhill...and this one is on a slippery slope. Too bad. We need a nice restaurant in the area.

Outside grill at the turn with hand pressed burgers and brats. Some of the best full menu items in the county. Large banquet rooms upstairs. A 4 star golf course that always challenges all golfers.

Nice course and club house, good food, good service, good staff. Not far from the Bluewater Bridge. You will enjoy it here.

We were guests at a wedding reception. The room held 200+ very comfortably with enough room for teh dance floor. The bar service was very good - Cindy was our favorite bartender. The food was good. There is a coat check, which is a nice addition. The room had incredible views of the sunset and the landcape surrounding the building. The rest rooms were clean and the whole building had a current and comfortable feel.
