It is definitely a bit of a drive through the middle of nowhere, but it's well worth it. It is incredibly quiet and peaceful at the point, plus it's the highest point in the state, so it's a fun, unique place to visit.Make sure you have directions. The sign to mark the turn-off the point is very large and easy to spot.

If you want to get out and see the countryside...this is the place. I like going to unusual places and this is it. Place in the middle of a bison farm but not to worry they are in a fence. Beautiful area.

We went to the town hall in Pine Bluffs, Wyoming and asked for directions. The receptionist went in the back and came out with a very nice printed map for us. Apparently others came before us. This site also has a copy http://www.summitpost.org/panorama-point/151932 . You go gravel and the a field road for the last .1 mile. There is no hike you drive to the top of a small rise. There is a nice stone marker.

My husband and I visited in August 2013. You can find directions on several sites on the internet, it is near Kimball NE. It costs $3.00 to drive out to the marker at Panorama Point through a private bison farm, well worth it if you enjoy prairie farmland, birds and solitude. We drove out toward sunset and ended up spending the night (although it's not a campsite but we parked and left early the next day). There is a stone marker marking the high spot and a 360 degree view of the surrounding countryside. We saw a beautiful sunset and a thunderstorm in the distance. In the morning birds were plentiful, a bison herd grazed below our trailer and we saw a rattlesnake in the road. I thought it was one of the prettiest places on our trip around the US, loved it.
