I went for a glider ride on a day with a few clouds but hot. I booked for the morning and was not disappointed! When I arrived, which was easy to get to the airfield, the staff were friendly and easy going. The airfield is pretty cool and the pilot was very knowledgeable. It is apparent that they all really enjoy gliding and showing off the Boonah area! As we started, they were all very safety conscious and made sure I was comfortable. We went up to 4200 feet and the tow rope was released. It was incredible! I've been to the grand canyon and I think this rates up there with seeing that! I was amazed that it was so peaceful, gentle and didn't need to yell over an engine to speak to each other! It truly was a cool experience with very knowledgeable people from the ground crew to the pilot Dennis! I took the 30 minute deluxe ride and it was worth it! Even got a certificate of the flight! It is an amazing feeling and I enjoyed it immensely! Thank you everyone!! Its for all ages and worth it!

Boonah Gliding Club, does not only have great flights and a great area to be in and around, but the people there are so welcoming and very knowledgable. Best place to be.

Absolutely loved the acrobatic glide!! The performance of the Fox is amazing. Beautiful scenery. The club members were fantastic, welcoming and informative. Must do that again very soon!

What a great experience! One of the best Xmas gifts I have ever been given. I liked it so much I had to do it again. I know what I want for my birthday and next Xmas. Its an easy drive from Brisbane and well worth the drive, my wife also had a flight and loved it also.

A wonderful gift from my family. Something I had always wanted to do and having moved to Boonah recently every time I saw a glider I said " I will go up one da" and I did!! Great flight and great people. I will definitely do it again.

My flight was on my 'bucket' list for many years and was given to me as a birthday present by my family. It was magic and not a single part of the flight was frightening for an old chick like me. After the most enjoyable, awesome experience I now feel that I will be doing it again.........and again. The members are a friendly bunch and my pilot, Steve, did a wonderful job of showing me the beautiful scenery around the Scenic Rim. The day was beautiful and I couldn't have asked for anything more, except another glide. A big thank you to the guys at Boonah Gliding Club, I will be seeing you again.

Boonah Gliding Club is a must do in the Scenic Rim. You just have to see it from the air, and the pilots here are the cream of the crop as Boonah is the best place in Australia for gliding. The airfield also offers ultralight flights and you can get your license if you want, the airfield is really awesome!!!

I have just spent a fantastic morning with the guys at Boonah Gliding Club. My wife decided to treat me to a Aerobatic Glider flight for my "mumblemumble" birthday. We arrived and were immediately made to feel welcome and relaxed. We drove aong the grass airfield to the waiting gliders. After the paperwork was signed, I went to investigate the Fox. The controls and basics of flight were expalained along with the safety features and the whereabouts of the sickbag incase if need during the flight!!Then John the pilot came over and helped me strap into the parachute and then securely into the glider. He then climbed on in and after the checks were complete, we were hooked up to the tow plane and off.We climbed to appx 3500 ft and released from the tow plane and gliding! The only sound is the air rushing past the canopy. We then did 2 x 180 turns, left and right, and after one last tightening of the harnesses, we were into it. Now this is where it all gets AWESOME but abit confusing....we went up, down, over, looping, rolling, spinning, spiralling, going backwards!!, diving and then rolling again. The sensation is incredible and the view is beautiful. Boonah looks very nice from upside down at 3000 ft I can now tell you. John knows what he is doing thats for sure!!After appx 15 or so mins of the above, we had to come back to earth and unfortunately into a rain storm. That did not dampen my spirits though as I was grinning from ear to ear (still am)Thank you to everybody at the club for making us welcome and giving me a very memorable flight. I am proud to stay the sickbag is still unused in the glider!!!
