As a fan of the TV Show "Gold Rush" I was intrigued with this "Denali Gold Tour" offered on our Alaskan Princess Cruise Land Tour during our stay at the McKinley Lodge in Talkeetna, AK. So, my wife and I booked this Tour and were more than satisfied with our experience. Life long Alaskan and Proprietor Richard Humphries was a wealth of Alaska and Gold Rush History along with a Tour of his Museum with a multitude of Artifacts along with Panning for Gold we saw Moose and the beautiful Alaskan Scenery. Please click on this video I have attached to see some of our experience. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4wUBdPLQ7Jk

I've always wanted to pan for gold, so when I saw this tour on Princess excursions I knew I had to do this. Richard was awesome, he was so knowledgeable about Alaska...I learned so much. This was different from the other tours I was reading about where you sit at a trough. This was the real deal! I highly recommend this tour.

My Husband and our 17 year old Grandson wanted to experience panning for gold on our trip to Alaska in July, 2014. I went along, somewhat hesitant about this adventure. Our guide, Richard, picked us up at the McKinley Lodge in the morning. We enjoyed his stories and his immense knowledge of Alaska history. We were able to stop at an original log cabin and see the relics of that era. We were then driven to the river through beautiful country. We arrived, got on our boots, and after a short walk, we were in the River and started our search for gold. I have to say, this was one of the "high Points" of our trip. We still talk about it. Richard was extremely professional and put us at ease. We had a most enjoyable tour. I would recommend this tour to anyone looking for the "real feel" of panning for gold. We can't wait to go back...

My husband and I went on this tour in July 2014. We wanted to get away from the lodge and explore some Alaskan History. The tour came highly recommended by the lodge staff. We loved the fact we could actually pan for true Alaskan gold. Our guide "Richard " was very friendly and captivated us with his knowledge of Alaska history and wildlife. On our tour we visited a wonderful Alaskan log cabin museum preserved with all original artifacts. After our Museum tour we rode to a beautiful river where our guide taught us how to pan for real gold. We were like kids in a candy store find the gold. And lots of it we did! We saw amazing wildlife to include Moose and huge fish. If you are going to be in Alaska this tour is a MUST DO. I recommend it for everyone #
