Catch it while you can. From 6:00 to 8:00 every Saturday night the Rendezvous des Cajuns has been broadcast for years and years from the Liberty Theater and for $5.00 a head there's no better show. A live band on the stage and local couples two-stepping and waltzing down front, with an announcer slipping in and out of Cajun French. If you're in the area on a Saturday night, it's worth a long detour. I fear for the future of this institution, though. When we were there the place was far from full, the average age of the dancers had to be 70+, and most of the band didn't understand French (although they sang in it).

A culture separate from any other in America. Listen to music that you have never heard before, see performances by artist that value the traditions that they were raised with and see the talent that is unheard of in other parts of the world.

Best Western staff told us about this Theater. Its a bit outdated though unique in its own way. We've seen many other dance performance places and this one is not that great.

Liberty has been a favorite of ours for years. This time around we missed the timing and had to sit in the back. Couldn't see too well.

We had no idea what to expect and were totally impressed. The website says to call the mayor's office for additional information so we did. We learned that it would likely not be sold out, so arrive about 5:15, purchase tickets, and go on in. We did.On the way in we bought popcorn and soda pops. Popcorn is only $2. Pop is only $1. What a deal!Although the theater seats 582, there were only about 50 of us there. The tickets were only $5.The show is broadcast live on local TV and radio. Two groups performed Cajun music and half a dozen couples danced in the front of the theater down in front of the bands. It was true treat for us northerners and we'd go back! The show is from 6-7:30 which leaves time for a nice dinner afterwards. For that we headed to Rocky's. The food and service were A+ and a Cajun band was playing!

Part of the Jean Lafitte National Park, this old fashioned theater offers live cajun music ever Saturday night.

The Liberty was originally a vaudeville theater that opened in the 1920s. Now it hosts the Rondezvous de Cajun radio show on Saturday nights (I believe it's also a venue for other music, too.) Thoroughly enjoyed the Cajun music. The theater is a little rough around the edges, and the acoustics aren't the best. That being said, it's a fun show before dinner on a Saturday night. Tickets are only $5, and it's general seating. It wasn't overly crowded the night we were there, so we got really good seats. I got the impression that it's the place to be for local older folks on Saturday night. So fun to watch everyone dance. One couple (they must have been in their 80s) danced almost every song. They were dressed to the nines, and really had some moves! I recommend stopping by the Liberty on a Saturday night.

Their Saturday shows are terrific and worth the trip and the price. Herman Fusilier hosts and does a great job.mmOne thing though, there's no food or alcohol for sale, you're limited to popcorn and fountain sodas. The Crispy Cajun, about a mile east of the theatre, was a good stop for a quick bite. Only negative was the lady working the ticket window; unhelpful, rude and hard of hearing - the trifecta of poor customer service.

Love it, I will go back every chance I get. For $5.00 you get $25.00 worth of entertainment!People are so friendly! I recommend it, on a scale of 1 to 10, I say 11.

Two wonderful Cajun bands for 5 dollars and an hour and a half of pure pleasure. Live TV show and aRadio show. Apparently the only one of its kind in the US.

I had a chance to experience the the Eunice Symphony for the first time. I enjoyed the emcee of Harry Simon and the performance of the string section followed by the timely pounding of the percussion and the well command of arrangement by conductor Nancy Simon. Personally I'm looking forward to the next venue of the Eunice Symphony Orchestra, I would recommend everyone to to find out dates of next season!Sam Tumblin

I wasn't sure what to expect from the Rendezvous de Cajun radio show, but I knew it would be fun. And it was. I didn't realize so many people would be dancing, yet sure enough, once the first waltz started up to the dance floor they went. So much fun watching so many older couples dancing. Some had difficulty getting out of the seat, but once they started moving... look out! Whether you danced or just watched everyone else, it was a lot of fun. I'd highly recommend it to anyone staying in the area. Tickets were a steal at $5, and the pop and popcorn were cheap as well.

Every Saturday at night a live musical group performs at the ancient but lovely Liberty Theater in the center of Eunice Louisiana. Its first come first serve. Tickets are a hefty $5 per person. The doors open around 4 PM. so come early if you want a front row seat. The performance is actually a live radio show, and is video recorded for local TV broadcast. There is a dance floor, which fills quickly once the program begins. We heard a very good Cajun music group, that even had some youngsters come up and play with them. Locals treated us like a family. Oh - and did I tell you that a soda and popcorn at the stand was $3. After the show walk one block to Ruby's for some great local food. And consider spending the night at Le Village Guesthouse bed and breakfast, a 5 minute ride from the theater.

On Saturday nights, the Liberty Theater is the venue for "Rendez-Vous Des Cajuns" radio show which is also broadcast live on KEUN AM radio 1490.Only $5 admission for the 1 1/2 hour show. Some really great Cajun music, even if you may not be a fan.

If you travel to Louisiana and Lafayette area, try this trip out for $5 a person for their weekly Saturday night show.I have never heard Cajun music before and really enjoyed show. The theater is spacious and has bathrooms. The entertainers definitely play local music and if you want to experience local stuff, this is really good. Liberty theater doesn't get alot of publicity and I had to stumble across the website. Main draw for me was the cost and entertainers who truely want to play their music and entertain people. Good for a night trip from Lafayette area on a Saturday night. The theater is definitely family oriented as local people will do cajun dancing in front the stage for alot of the music.
