This is one of the best attractions in South Charleston. The employees are very nice and the service is great. If you like ice skating. Then come here.

I have been going to the SC ice rink pretty regularly for the last year or so. Winter is by far the busiest time, some days filled to capacity. I love skating in the summer, cool when it is hot and often no more than 20 or 30 people on the ice. They are usually really good at keeping the ice smooth, i noticed this when i went to another rink and it felt like skating on gravel. If you haven't really skated before but are interested in learning I recommend their learn to skate program, they have classes for all ages. My wife and I were occasional skaters going maybe once a year but after one set of lessons I was doing things I had wanted to do for years but didn't know how to, although i still can't really skate backwards like i want, guess it's time for more lessons.Food is pretty basic: bottled drinks, hot chocolate. instant cappuccino, popcorn, hot dogs, candy, etc. They have a number of tables in the (heated) lobby area plus spectator seating in the rink area. There are also some arcade games in the lobby, including air hockey of course.

You will love the amenities and the manager Mr. Buckley is great-good value and they have lessons if you have never skated-popcorn drinks,etc.

I have been several times and always found it clean and fun. Enjoy the fireplace during skating breaks.
