靠着大西洋的一个公园 也是之前和英军打仗的一个要塞 说是公园 其实就是一片挺大的绿地 可以登上要塞远眺 天气好的时候应该很漂亮

I loved this fort and it was the first I have ever been to. Jack was so informative and with only a few people on the tour it was perfect to get information about the history of the fort. I loved the tunnels and the hibernating bats. I think that it is sad that back in the 50's people destroyed much of the forts interior. I am not someone that would usually like this sort of thing and I loved it. The views are perfect! Dress warm though!

Fort Adams is a great place in the spring time, its very scenic. You'll find picturesque views views of sailboats dotting Narragansett Bay as well as the Newport Bridge reaching across it.

Nice 2 mile walking or jogging loop. Free calm, clear beach (no dogs allowed). Bring a lawn chair and watch the sailboats. Nice place to launch your kayak to tour around the harbor.

Hubby and I did this tour on a warm October afternoon and we thoroughly enjoyed it. As a local, I had not been in the fort part in years and I found the information terrific....I guess I take this plave for granted because I have lived here for so long! Very nice tour and a very scenic area to spend a few hours on a nice day!

There's an asphalt trail that follows the shoreline and was great for a quick run. The winds coming off the water were intense, though, so dress accordingly!

This was a really nice change from the mansions. Our tour guide was very personable and informed, offering a comprehensive tour of the grounds while explaining the history and some other details. Even as someone who is not entirely intrigued by military related topics, this was very enjoyable and on a nice day I would highly recommend it. the tour lasted about an hour and 15 minutes and is mostly outside with some stops inside the fort walls. The highlight was absolutely a chance to walk through some of the listening tunnels - really cool expereince.

This was the perfect spot to come and see but also walk around and enjoy the water. Nice sunset views with benches in the right spot. Would be a great place to picnic. I also heard a rumor about parking there in the summer and ferrying to town for free? Maybe call and check that out because parking in Newport is a nightmare!

Well, obviously it's historic, but it really is amazing and worth a visit. And the grounds staff really knew their historic details.

Really great location for a folk concert and relaxing afternoon! The fort backdrop and island feel was a unique experience. It would be hard to complain about the surroundings!

Unfortunately, didnt get to the fort in time for the day time tour; however, I returned at night for the haunted tour and it was good! Scary good. If you like scary try the haunted fort tour. Plus all proceeds go to a good cause.

The site is impressive and the guided tour takes approximately 2 hours which gives you a good flavor of the history of the site and plenty of photo opportunities. As they renovate the fort this attraction can only get better. The listening tunnels are a must.what really made the tour great was our volunteer tour guide. He was knowledgeable, full of enthusiasm, friendly and witty.

we journeyed here at night for the tunnels of terror over Halloween weekend. for the purpose of the attraction it is the perfect setting. unable to judge the fort during the daytime, but at night it had nice views of the city across the water with the city lights.

We just recently visited Newport and while driving Ocean Drive decided to take a stop at Fort Adams. We did not get to the fort during the tour times so opted to just take the 2 mile walk around the outside of the fort instead. It was very nice and all along the water. We noticed other people walking their dogs and the trail is well marked.

Fort Adams provides a fascinating insight into Newport's naval history. We did the tour of the site, and our guide Paul was very informative and interesting. Make sure that you take the opportunity to go down into the tunnels (with a guide!) - it is an interesting experience.
