Oak Mountain is an awesome mountain in the heart of the Adirondack's that has diverse skiing / boarding for the entire family. The mountain caters to families and has lift ticket prices that allowed my family to afford to keep skiing and riding. They even sell discounted tickets through iskiny.com so a family of four can ski for under $100. We skied Oak over President's weekend and were able to escape the lift lines and the disrespectful crowds that often invade the larger ski areas. We actually met the owner and his family who were running the T-bar and hosting skiers / riders after a day on the slopes at their Acorn bar/restaurant. Keep in mind that there is only one quad chairlift that services the entire mountain, however, because of it's speed, it spreads skiers and riders out on the hill so the slopes never feel crowded. When the lift lines begin to form, management opens up their T-bar to run patrons to the top. This mountain is one of the best hidden family ski areas in the ADK!

We have gone there a few times now. Great family Ski place. The instructors for the kids are fantastic!!! We had a fantastic few days there. There prices are very good also- not too expensive for a family to rent and ski for the day! Ski tubing was lots of fun too.

Oak Mountain is more than a ski center. The new owners have been hosting lots of events there. In addition to skiing, boarding, tubing in the winter they have had lots of off season events. We went to two of their dinner dances. The food was good, The band was great, and it was a lot of fun. They do weddings and banquets. We were at a picnic where they offered rides up the mountain on the chair lift. It was absolutely beautiful. They have a pub with a good menu. There is mini golf and mountain biking in the summer. Their prices are good. They usually have fireworks once or twice a winter. There is nothing like a fireworks display in the snow.

I can't say enough about this place. It is a perfect place to bring your family skiing. The instructors are great. They have a lot of special events geared towards families, and kids. They are in the process of making it a year round recreational facility. They have a bar. They have a cafeteria. The prices are very reasonable. It is a treasure.
