This is a NYS DEC operated campground situated on Lake Eaton in the heart of the Adirondacks. There are approximately 135 camping sites for tents, travel trailers and RV's with amenities such as toilets, showers, boating-canoeing-kayaking, fishing and hiking. As with many "state" operated campgrounds it is "rustic" in nature but does have paved roads, potable water spigots, all sites have picnic tables (some could use replacements) and fire places (some could use replacing), it is reasonably clean, neat, orderly and fairly well maintained. Not quite half of the camping sites are "water" sites - situated on the lake shore with some nice views. The lake itself has good fishing for bass and trout. There are numerous other lakes, hiking trails, restaurants, stores very close by to enjoy also - in other words, lots of "see and do" activities.are readily available. This is one of those camping places that you will want to enjoy over and over again.
