For a real blast, visit the Beaver Meadows Tubing Hill at the Beaver Meadows resort in Red Feathers, Colorado. We went there this last Sunday afternoon and purchased a two hour lift ticket for $29. They have about 10 different runs from tame to wild that you can go down. They supply single and double tubes. The four of us used two double tubes, and often formed a chain to go down. Some runs are pretty tame, although all are a thrill! The folks that they have at the slope are very safety conscious, but also a lot of fun! They make sure everyone follows safety guidelines, which is very important, since this can be dangerous while it is thrilling! Mark was especially enthusiastic as he helped us at the top. For a particularly thrilling ride, try going down backwards! We've been before, and we'll come again to this terrific little hideaway in the Colorado foothills. They've also got lodging, cabins, and a restaurant, ice skating, snowmobiling, horse drawn wagon and sleigh rides. They've got it all!

This is the greatest horseback ride in Colorado. This is not a dusty, large group trail ride on tired horses. Beaver Meadows has well cared for horses and beautiful trails. They take you out in small groups, usually just your group and a guide. You ride from their property, into the national forest. There are great mountain views and even a river crossing if you go for 1 1/2 hour ride or longer. The guides are friendly and knowledgeable. The horses are well trained. I have been riding for 30 years and never enjoyed a ride so much.
