We were impressed with the school. The staff and students could not have been more friendly. It was a great experience.

Knowledgeable employees and bright ! Loved every minute of this, didn't think I would but I dare anyone to go and have a bad experience !

The mineral collections are amazing. It's just a little old fashioned and the gift shop was particularly bad. The staff were not terribly friendly or informative either. This could be so much better!

Best mineral collection I've seen for a while. They also have moon rocks on display. You can purchase samples and they have a good display and small shop for kids.

Can't go wrong with visiting this museum. Beautiful displays, informative video on the geological history of the area, great kids area. Plus, it FREE!

Small geology museum mostly focused on Colorado geology but has samples from all over the world. If you ever wanted to see some gold nuggets, this is the place.Very interesting. Fee if you paid for parking. Takes about an hour.

The visitor center told us that this museum, located on the campus at the Colorado School of Mines, would not only be interesting but would impress us with the large selection of gemstones in its possession. A FREE museum(donations appreciated) is nicely arranged and encourages the appreciation of the minerals, fossils, meteorites and historical mining treasures found locally and around the world. The first floor has a safe which displays gold specimens and more gold and silver specimens are shown in the Betty Llewellyn Room. The main hall displays a vast collection of minerals, some found in the Pike's Peak area. Also there is a Miss Colorado tiara with its Colorado motifs that has been awarded since 1973. The lower level has a replica of a uranium mine, fossils, moon rocks, etc. An educational experience not to be missed!

I had never been to this museum before and i have lived in the Denver metro area for 26 years. I went on a weekend when parking is free. there were not a lot of cars there so it was easy to part. the museum is free. It has two floors of all sorts or minerals for Colorado and around the world. It even has moon rocks for the moon landing. The young man at the entrance seem more interested in his ipad than the people coming it, but since it is free that didn't seem to be a problem. It is two stories and well layed out. I do wish there was a little more explanation about the different minerals but it was still very interesting. Well worh a visit if you are in the area.

This FREE attraction is on the campus of the school and is two floors of exhibits of the most amazing minerals you can imagine. There are minerals that resemble moss, brains, arctic ice, and worms! Allow lots of time to stare into each display case and appreciate the beauty.

This is worth the stop for all ages. It is an open, full of light two story space with views out the windows. Breathtaking mineral specimens. The whole museum is informative and easy to understand. We like getting a history of the mining industry. It is very kid friendly too.

Great collection of rocks. If you have any interest in Geology what so ever stop here. I could spend hours looking at these rocks.

The museum is a must see and it is free (donations accepted). We had trouble parking the car and locating the museum. Luckily a student helped us locate the museum. The exhibits are well done and informative. We also enjoyed getting to see the moon rocks. In addition, family friendly museum as they had alot of things for children to do.

Great, nicely presented samples. Good visual groupings. Good for grandchildren. Didn't know half the gems shown even existed in CO.

I'm not the type to spend hours in a museum, but this one was like no other! So many gorgeous specimens. This was a rare, unexpected gem of a museum.

We really enjoyed our trip here, which is free (donations are welcome). They have some great gem and rock specimens, and the staff are really nice and informative. It was hard to find a place to park.
