Kids and adults can climb all over the rocks. There are trails, but you can go off and play by the river, play in hollowed out rocks, climb on them, etc. You could spend hours here. You know when you drive along the highway and see all the cool rock formations and wish you could explore and climb all over them? But there's always a fence? Well you can do that here! There are dinosaur tracks here, too! Just don't read the signs. God created the earth in 6 days about 6000 years ago, based on the genealogies of the bible, and the 6 days. Dinosaurs are dead because...they just are. Even leaves can make make fossils in cement or other rocks quickly. It does not take millions of years.

This place has camping but no reservations. It is a little paradise that is tucked away off the freeway and easy to miss but worth the visit. You can find dinosaur tracks and great views.

The Bridge on the road toe Red Cliffs is under repair if you wish to hike the red cliffs you will have a long hike from the freeway to get there. We chose to hike silver reef instead and visit the museum.

We went in October 2014. Called the BLM for directions.. they gave them to us.. but didn't mention that THEY have the road (one and only way in and out) closed. It's supposed to be opening this fall.. but I'd check first.

Be sure to bring a camera. The scenery is beautiful. Spring is the best time for this hike. The ponds and waterfall are at their best. Summer can get a little hot in southern Utah and the water can almost dry up. This hike is great for all ages and skill levels.

This is just one of hundreds of great hiking spots in Southern Utah and the St. George area. Not only great for hiking but some good rappelling areas as well

We were staying in St. George and took a short drive up to the Red Cliffs area. We've heard that it can be very crowded but were lucky that there weren't too many people that day. Easy hike to the bottom of a waterfall and then it goes into a slot canyon that had pools of water in it that day. To keep going you have to scale a wall using a rope but it's not difficult to do. Once you are past that you can walk and climb on beautiful red sandstone. Enjoyable place to visit.

I've roamed for miles and found so much. This area is absolutely fantastic. All types of access for all people. Hidden petroglyphs. Swimming holes like no other. Dinasour tracks. Ghost towns and homesteads dot the unbelievable terrain. Dozens is ancient volcanoes. 22 miles from Zion National Park. Tortoise and wildlife abound. It's where we recharge our batteries !!!

During the cooler months we explore Red Cliffs. There are many hikes, some quite short and beautiful. Information is available at the BLM in St George.

This area is hidden back above Quail Creek resevoir. It is a canyon that you pay a couple bucks and there are several campsites and hikes. The hike we enjoyed is mid way through the loop. You hike up an old wash and scale the canyon around pools of water. Several people came up in swimming suits and jumped into the pools. We climbed up the wash and canyon. Great fun
