Such a lovely place. The owner-Kevin-explained how he does most of the work himself (wife is busy with 2 little ones) & he is passionate about his vineyard. His wines are all estate grown & the only winery in Iowa that is certified organic. He operates off the power grid with wind & solar power. The tasting room is very modern. The outside patio overlooks a corn field & has a fire pit. How lovely to be outside on a nice summer or fall day overlooking the field while sipping a glass of wine. And the wine is quite nice. I especially liked White Velvet-a semi dry white wine with a nice finish. My husband was impressed with the frontenac red. it is quite dry, which he says is unusual for this grape. Also try the hard cider! I don't even like hard cider, but this stuff was so good we bought a bottle of "original." We will definitely return when in Iowa.

My wife and I stopped by on Sunday afternoon to see the place we had driven by on several occasions on our frequent trips to Dubuque from Cedar Rapids. The road to access this spot sets the tone for you to relax as you wind back to the vinyard from the highway. The destination is still a work in progress (and a passion!) for the owners Kevin and Lisa. The wines are very nice. At time some of the Iowa wines are not on my list of favorites, but these guys do a great job with their small organic process. They stay true to their word and quality not quantity pays big dividends!We enjoyed our time, met some wonderful people with similar interests and we will be back again!
