Arrived there just as the doors were opening. Saw a bald eagle sitting in a tree across the river through a telescope. Loved seeing the live eagles up close. Huge birds!! Lots of informartive displays to see.

The opportunity to see close up and experience some of the previously injured and rehabilitated golden or bald eagles at their facility is simply amazing. You can get a much better appreciation for the size and scale of these birds, along with their habits during the interpretive program. Great place for viewing during the right season, as well as a full staff of folks ready to answer questions and point you to the best spots in the area to continue your viewing.

The start of the migration season and the center has special events on weekends during March. They have a very nice building. Our grandchildren had fun looking at all the exhibits and the classroom setting was informative.

We try to make it her on a yearly basis for their March activities. The building is very well put together & the exhibits are well done. The staff are always super friendly & very informative. The room where the Eagles sit is very neat & the live show is fun no matter how any times you see it. This is a must no matter your age!

Wife and I hadn't been to the center for about ten years when it was in a tiny building downtown. The center is beatiful. You must go to one of the presentations, times online, to really make the visit worthwhile. Glad we went back.

So much for the whole family. Kids will love many activities. The whole family will like the eagle programs that are put on several times during the day.

This is one of my favorite places to go especially in the winter. When the Mississippi River is frozen, the eagles like to come to the area by the National Eagle Center where there is running water. The Center has 4 bald eagles and a golden eagle who are generally right there and participate in presentations and pose for pictures. The staff and volunteers are knowledgeable and friendly. Great place with kids and adults of all ages.

We went here with our three children and had a great time. The presenter in the classroom was knowledgable and friendly. (As well as all the staff we encountered) It was interesting and informative. We saw an eagle close up eating his lunch. After the presentation you can go into another room to see four additional eagles close up. Our children even enjoyed the craft activities that was geared toward small children. Upstairs there was a couple of viewing areas with telescopes to view the eagles in their natural habitat. Overall, this was well worth the drive from the twin cities and the admission fee. Nice family activity on a Sunday afternoon.

The visit to the National Eagle Center was a lot more than we expected. There is a 45 minute presentation, with a live Bald Eagle, 4 times daily. The presenter is awesome, knowledgeable, answers questions and very friendly with children. You can also go into the room with a all 5 of the live eagles, they are tethered so you are safe. The presenter or other staff member is usually in that room doing something with the eagles and will take time to visit and answer questions. Also included in the center are two floors of displays. The entire staff will spend as much time with you individually to answer any questions.Don't let the small admission fee scare you off, it is well worth it. We thought we would spend about half hour there, but enjoyed it so much we spent all after noon there. I would love to revisit it again some day.

The National Eagle Center is a not-for-profit organization that has the goal of educating people about eagles. They have four bald eagles and one golden eagle named Donald. You can observe the eagles up close, there are people there to answer your questions, they have a very good education center, and the one hour long demonstration with an eagle is very enjoyable and educational. It costs $8 per adult. It is a bit of a drive but it is well worth it. If you are anywhere in the area put this on your list of things to see.

We enjoyed our visit to the Eagle Center. It was very neat to see 5 - 6 eagles up close. Their handler spent about 15 meetings chatting with us and telling us all about the eagles and how they came to be housed at the center. There were also many exhibits that explained other birds in the area and more info on eagles. It was quite well done. We were there a little over an hour. They also have lectures that are included with your admission - which seemed quite popular, but we did not have the time this visit.

A trip to the National Eagle Center in Wabasha, MN is guaranteed to be and enjoyable learning experience. Seeing these maganicant birds up close is thrilling. You should not be concerned for the birds freedom however; all were rescued after injuries and can no longer exist in the wild. Their role is now to help you, with the aid of wonderful eagle handlers, learn about the eagle which decorates so much of America. It is easy to take photos of the eagles in the main area, and again in the eagle 'classroom.' There are many static displays and videos throughout the area to occupy yourself while waiting for a 'class' to begin. If you are ever close to the National Eagle Center; don't miss it...........and you can even view the upper end of the Mighty Mississippi.

We stop whenever we're done that way and always learn something from the excellent staff. This time we joined as members, so I'm sure we'll be back again. It's great to visit even in the winter because a lot of eagle winter over in that part of the river because it stays open.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Clean welcoming environment. You can walk in a room with 5 live eagles there. Lots of informative static displays and things to look at. Their live program is a hit with a good description of how the eagles live and includes many hands on displays that are handed out to look at and touch with a question and answer session also. They feed a live eagle during the program as well. Located on the bank of the Mississippi River gives you a great view of the goings on there as well.

This is our second trip to the Eagle Center. The exhibits are informative and they continue to expand the exhibit area. I highly recommend attending one of the educational programs as they cover a lot of information and include at least one live bird demonstration. The center offers a limited number of four hour eagle tours. The tour begins with a brief introduction at the center and then we boarded a coach bus. There were about 40 people on the tour, but that size was not an issue. The regular staff person wasn't able to be on the tour, but a retired naturalist from a nearby state park led it. He was very knowledgeable. We had numerous opportunities to get off the bus and observe eagles and various ducks in the natural habitat. Most of the people on the tour had binoculars or cameras, but there were also spotting telescopes that we could use. The tour is $35/person (less for Eagle Center members); we felt it was money well spent and it would recommend this to others.
