love stoping here when driving up to "Two Harbors". Love to stop and take pictures to look at the waves and ice. Great little scenic rest area coming from the cities to take a breath and relax a little.

Huge waves and terrific winds will whip your hair into your eyes and make them sting along with the little bits of water thrown from the Great Lake. Great for photos and nature shots and even some rock climbing along the shore. But if you want a campfire and some relaxation along that shoreline, better pick a calmer day or night. Great for seeing stars and moon at night.

Stopped at the Dairy Queen to get a treat and help the local economy. While eating there, watched traffic going down the road & over the hill. Couldn't let that go by without checking to see what was over that hill so many were heading to or from. So we went on a hunt and found the rest of Two Harbors. And a neat point to walk out on. Kind of wonder why they would have a sign for ships to activate the fog horns to warn them of the pier that the sign is attached to?

The views at Stoney Point are magical. Sometimes there is fog, sunshine, ice formations, clouds, blue sky just the full gamit of backgrounds. You might have to climb through some brush to get down to the shore rocks, but all time spent is well worth it.

Decided to venture off the beaten path when we had a little time and discovered Stoney Point. The highlight is the fisherman's shack. Being a photographer I had fun taking pics of my family with that as the backdrop. The scenery up and down the shore is nothing spectacular.

If the sun or moon is in the right place you can get some spectacular pictures. It is worth the stop if you can find the point.

There is a short trail that takes you down to the water. Very pretty spot. Watched fishing boats, saw one land a nice fish

We actually watched surfers in the storm! They were covered in black rubber suits from head to toe. We want to come back in the summer for a picnic on the rocks.

We stopped along the North Shore Scenic Drive at the 15.0 mile mark (from Duluth). There is a one mile pulloff that goes right up to the lake. We pulled over with the kids had a great time agate searching, skipping rocks and climbing the giant boulders. A nice place to go for a dip in the water as well.
