Did not encounter many other hikers at the mouth of the river. The hike of ~ 1.5 miles to the the falls is well worth the effort but could tire you out if you are used to hiking and doing lots of stairs,

Part of the Superior Hiking Trail system, it's a beautiful, scenic area, with lots of photo opportunities.

Totally enjoyed the Cascades Trail to the Baptism River. The path led through wildflowers and followed the river all the way to the rocks that formed the Cascades. A manageable hike on an unusually hot summer day in Minnesota.

This is a beautiful park and there are many sights to see. You can easily spend a whole day here. Make sure that you check out Shovel Point.

The hike to the falls is a bit of a hike, but well worth it. If it is summer, bring your swimming suit to swim in the giant pool below the falls (but stay away from the falls itself!)

We enjoyed the hike to the High Falls. The river was beautiful from the High Falls to the outlet into Superior. Loved watching the water flow over rocks and the fall areas.

I visited the Baptism River Bed and Breakfast when I was there a few years ago. The log cabin lodge was well built and nicely decorated. I liked the balconies off the rooms and the large fireplace on the main level.

It was such a nice river with beautiful scenery and great for climbing and hiking.

We had never been up north this late -- no fall color, but the lack of leaves opened up more views.

We hiked to the little pebble beach where the river meets the lake with our 2-month-old in-tow. Once you get past the steps, the trail is wide and passable with a stroller (we have a Bugaboo Chameleon).Take a blanket, swim suits and picnic fare with you - the pebble beach is a great place to relax, eat and take a swim. The water in the river is very warm.
