Who would have ever known. Believe the owner said they had been there 15 years. Caught it out of the corner of our eye on the way to Taos. We did a tasting $7 the bought a bottle of Antelope - the Bordeaux blend and off we went...

This is one of those neat places you just stumble across while driving. We didn't do a tasting but purchased the La Bajada Red and a really good Moscato. The house cat even offered us a rodent but we passed on it (couldn't decide if we should go with the red or white).

We stopped in on New Years Day just needing a little information and got that as well as some great wines, local honey and some great tasting dressing for my grilled pork chops. The lady who waited on us took the time to make a few phone calls to help us find a product we were looking for that she did not carry. Always a joy to find folks who will "go the extra mile."

Stopped in for a wine tasting and ended up joining their wine club. Several excellent wines and exceptionally helpful and caring staff.

Our group of 8 had a very nice time sampling the Black Mesa wines. The staff and owners are very nice people and enjoy sharing their stories with you. Their wines were the best we tasted while we were in the area visiting local wineries. Where can you go and spend $10 and sample 6 great wines and also get to keep your wine glass. Not in Napa or Sonoma, that's for sure!

We have traveled the wine trails in Missouri and decided to stop here since it is right on the way to Santa Fe. It is a quaint little vineyard on the side of a mountain. The lady was very friendly at the tasting and figured out very quickly what type of wines we liked. She made suggestions and we tried them and we bought them. I liked the idea of tasting 6 wines and keeping the glass for $7. We ended up joining their wine club, so they can ship to us. Their Black Beauty wine is the best, so save it for last!

In all Tennessee wineries I have visited, you taste whatever you want no matter how many types and there is no limit of 6 small sips for a $7.00 tasting fee and you get to keep the glass. No palate cleanser between tastes and don't even clean the glass when they give it to you to take home I may sound cheap, but the point of a tasting room is to sell product. I usually buy a minimum of 1-2 cases of what we like. Bought one bottle of Black Beauty if that's any indication.

We visited during happy hour on a Thursday so it was slow but super enjoyable. We took our sampling out to the patio, met with a nice local and blew off a couple of hours just tasting wine and talking. We had visited earlier on the weekend with live music but this was a totally different experience. Great wine, great atmosphere!

On my last 2 trips to Taos, I've enjoyed a wine tasting at Black Mesa Vineyard Tasting Room in Taos, just off the Plaza. The tasting includes 6 wines for under $10. While I'm spoiled with my favorite California wines, Black Mesa delivers the best New Mexico wines of any I've tried, and I've tasted a few. Each time I visit I wind up buying at least 1 bottle to take home. The staff is very friendly and knowledgable about the wines they are serving. The atmosphere of the Tasting Room is very comfortable and nice. The location, just a short walk off the Taos Plaza is very convenient and adds to the evening activities all in a short walk. I definitely suggest a stop at the Tasting Room in Taos for enjoyable atmosphere for a tasting of some nice New Mexico wine.

The Black Mesa Winery is a little off the beaten path, but you get 6 wines for the $7 tasting fee plus you keep the glass with their logo. Best of all they ship! My two favorites were the Abuiqui White (from grapes grown in Velarde) and the dessert wine, Black Beauty, infused with chocolate. Must taste to believe!

Love Black Mesa! Their wine is fantastic and Kat is always so nice. Favorite wines include their Viogner and Dolcetto. I go every time I am back home.

Had a very nice visit and glad we had the opportunity to sip on a glass of their Antelope which was a very delicious red blend. Reds are a little pricey but they do make some good wine and you definitely want to stop here if you are into wine.

We had an amazing time tasting Black Mesa wines in the Taos tasting room. Laurie and Craig are amazing hosts that will recommend the best wines for you. We went on Friday night and enjoyed live music after our tasting. Happy Hour specials on glasses are also a good deal. We had an extensive selection of wines to choose from from our tasting. We had a blast! Thank you Laurie and Craig!

The wine really was quite good. Full bodied reds, and a very unusual dessert wine with a chocolate taste to it. It is their top seller. The tasting room manager could not have been nicer. I did see a cat, but just one...the other review made it sound like they were everywhere...just a nice old cat sleeping. The location is set back from the road, and must be beautiful when in bloom. Everything is bare in January. We loved the wine, and will be back. They also ship, so buy some of their wine!!
