I am sure when the weather is just right this place is beautiful. It is a garden setting but unfortunately it was raining when we were there. We did see a play at night. It was quiet cute. I would certainly go back to see another one.

Great place to take pictures, and nice Christmas lights walk. Worth visiting even if it doesn't go on for miles & miles. It's perfect for a family with small children, or great to just have a nice casual walk through to enjoy the scenery. They'll even serve hot cocoa at Christmas time! Great photo op place!

I'm so sorry that we did not have a show going on during your visit. I hope you had a chance to enjoy the grounds. I also hope you will come back! In September we have A Midsummer Night's Dream playing on our outdoor stage on Fridays and Saturdays and Goldilocks and the Three Bears playing in the Indoor Studio Theatre on Saturdays and Sundays. In November Nuncrackers - The Nunsense Christmas Musical - will be playing in the studio theatre and the Trail of Lights opens on November 29 and is open nightly through December 31.

Lovely place to wander for an hour to see what the city and the community of Wimberley does to beautify their community.

On a recent trip to Wimberley, we took our 2 daughters (aged 4 & 5) to see Rapunzel and they loved it. The location was easy to find near the high school, and the staff were all friendly and welcoming. This interactive production was held indoors and small enough to have an excellent view no matter where you sit. It really kept the kids attention, and was just the right length (~45 min). Afterwards the kids could meet and talk with the actors. We enjoyed walking around the gardens as well. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting the area!

What a great display of Christmas Lights and Decorations. It is Free (but donations welcomed). We visited on New Years Eve which was very nice as most places would be closed on this day. Very Beautiful, entertaining and Great (Free) Hot Chocolate. They have a camp fire going which was nice on this cold evening. Lots of walking through the gardens which adds to the Christmas Displays. Especially liked the "What Does Santa Do after Christmas" display - showing him fishing. They also had little cottages decorations, Cinderella Carriage, Train Rides, and activities for the kids. We are already making plans to visit next year as we believe it is worth the drive to visit.

My friends and I stumbled upon the Emily Ann on a weekend getaway. The thrill of watching theater outside was so fun - this isn't Broadway, but the production was well thought out. There was trouble with the sound system, but overall it was VERY family friendly and if the show was right, I would come back!

This is a great little surprise! You walk through a butterfly and water garden back to an outdoor theater. We saw the Sound of Music. The actors were all amazing. The show had some sound problems with the mics making a loud screeching noise just a few times. We never had a problem hearing the actors. The actors wore headsets and everything came across loud enough and with good clarity. The props and lighting was above what I expected from an outdoor theater with tickets only $15. They even have bug spray you can use for free at the ticket booth! We didn't feel or see any bugs. Either the bug spray worked really well or those little bugs just decided to stay home on the night we were there. They have a small souvenir store and a small concession stand near the stage. Restrooms are just above the seating area. Some of the parents brought small blankets for their kiddos to lay on the ground in front of the stage to watch the play. They have plastic chairs for seating. You can pick up a cushion for your chair from a trailer near the stage- the only thing they ask is that you bring it back to the trailer after the show. I did see an attendant with a golf cart offering anyone needing assistance a ride to the stage area. We thought it was a great play and enjoyed the experience.

The EmilyAnn Theater grew out of a desire to honor the memory of a young woman who loved Shakespeare. Her parents, with the help of many friends and supporters have developed a beautiful site for outdoor theatrical productions. The EmilyAnn recently added an intimate indoor theater. We attended their "Butterfly Day" in April, and we love the beautiful Christmas "Trail of Lights" each year. When you come, look up EmilyAnn's parents, Norm and Ann. He may be directing traffic, driving a tractor, or just sharing hill country tales with visitors. Ann will give you a big hug and a smile. You will definitely put this beautiful place on your "return visit" list.

I love everything about EmilyAnne Theatre and Gardens. They have excellent plays, both larger ones outside and smaller ones inside. They host many events throughout the year. The biggest ones are the Christmas Trail of Lights and Butterfly Festival are well worth a trip to town. They have beautiful grounds and one just feels peaceful walking or sitting in them. The VFW monument at the top of the hill...outstanding and can be viewed from all around the town. Don't miss visitng if you're in Wimberley!

I am a performer and Theatre PhD candidate, so on our romantic trip to Wimberley, my partner surprised me with tickets to one of the local theaters. We went to see the Elephant Man. I wish we could have gone back in the day to see the property, which seems to have open performance spaces, gardens, and works of art. However, I loved their intimate black box theatre. We enjoyed very much the play, specially the performance of Dr. Treves, Merrit and Ms. Kendal. (It was a bit sad to see that her costume fit her so badly, specially since Emily Ann was a costume designer. Please, have a seamstress fit that costume to the actress!)

The EmilyAnn is great to visit and time of the year. Christmas Lights are amazing. The gardens are wonderful. Butterfly Festival is a great family experience. All the plays are so professional and impressive. i love this place.

We go to the EmilyAnn during the Christmas holidays for the trail of lights. It's quite something to see so many displays in our small town. The entertainment (a hand bell choir the night we went) hot chocolate and the weeny roasting over the open fire makes it extra special.

This place is a jewel in Wimberley. Our kids can run all over the native landscaped flower gardens and we walked up to the veterans memorial. We have gone back to see the summer production in there outdoor theater which was Annie and we were truly impressed with the level of professionalism. Amazing quality. We brought a blanket and the kids sat on the front row we also brought a cooler with some drinks and snacks although they do sell hotdogs drinks and popcorn Looking forward to going back to catch one of the "Shakespeare under the stars"productions.
