The course is fairly wide, so lots of room for offline shots. A couple of par threes are tough, with water around the green.

This is one of the most scenic championship courses you will ever play. Changes in elevation are dramatic as are some of the views. Hole designs are outstanding and the greens very good and putt true. The traps are some of the worst I've ever played. Not pebbles, but actual rocks abound. Don't think about exploding a shot, I had to pick the ball and try and take no sand.There is also no clubhouse on the course which is paired with a much tougher Ram Rock that share the same pro shop that is also underwhelming.

Most scenic of the courses we played. Fairways and greens in great shape. Will certainly play it again in the future!

After playing slick rock in the morning we were able to play this course in the afternoon at half price. This course has it all, nice fairways, smooth greens, great views, and little breeze to cool you off. It was indeed a pleasure to have been on this course.

Great golf courses that are both challenging and scenic and a pleasure to play. The experience is greatly compromised by the the fact that the clubhouse that burned down almost three years ago has never been replaced. Having to use the "locker room" at the swimming pool to change clothes and the pool snack bar for food and drink makes that part of the experience feel like a municipal golf course.

That view from #10 tee at Apple Rock is one of the best in the entire state of Texas. Good mixture of challenging holes makes this a great venue for our state competition.

I was the one who roamed the course just checking on everyone. I was the luckiest girl in the world. Beautiful greens. Soft Breezes. Friendly deer. and the view from 10 is breath taking. oh and apparently the greens were fast and the course is challenging without being intimidating. blah blah golf talk.

Apple Rock is one of three Robert Trent Jones, Sr. courses at Horseshoe Bay. It is a difficult test of golf, and the prettiest of the three courses. For an even harder test, play Ram Rock, which is not quite as pretty, but still a lovely course.To get 5 stars, they need to replace the clubhouse that burned a couple years ago, which destroyed both the restaurant and the pro shop. Only 19th hole outdoor drinks and snacks are served now.

Great RTJ course. Had a nice set of rental clubs. Great scenic views and wildlife around the course with some challenging holes.

Amazing pool and beautiful view of t he golf course we did not eat at the restaurant but the gardens are very well kept the ride from the hotel easy with marriot small van

There had been a fire the week before we arrived and it destroyed the country club serving this course. The course grill was in service and it was very nice for snack and 19th hole refreshment.
