We actually visited the outlet store in Spring Texas. There was a small fee for tasting. The gentleman there was very good and knowledgeable about the many selections (about 30). He asked us where our tastes lied and proceeded to pour us a sample of one good wine after another. He went out of his way to be friendly and helpful. Would visit there again in a heart beat!

This place is amazing but we are sad that they are not making our favorite 2011 Syrah. If any knows where I can find any for purchase let me know.

This winery is off the beaten path and really didn't see any vineyards around. It looked like a castle out in horse country. We really enjoy their Sweet Red wine because it had cherries and honey in it! They had a deck around the back with games and a double decker bus "bar" for parties. Several Shetland ponies were friendly in the back, also.

I am a fan of sweet wines, and wimberly valley has got it down! everyone was super nice and the atmosphere was amazing on such a stormy day, they even had the fire place on. it was so inviting and they had their mulled, christmas wines out how could you not stay! It was a little hard to fine we just happened upon it by chance!

Great selection of wines and staff was more than helpful. A little back in the woods, but expected that. Purchased number of bottles and have it on calendar to return.

This was our second stop on our winery tour. And we had such a great time, we decided to ditch our tour plans and stick around here for a few more hours. We initially stopped at another nearby winery and were not very pleased with the wine selection, the price for tastings (too expensive), and the customer service. So when we stopped here and heard it was only $5 for five tastings and saw all the sweet wines on their menu...we were in heaven! Our server was very nice and knowledgeable...she thoroughly explained the different wines, the favorites, etc. The place was fairly busy as they were getting ready for a wedding. We chose to buy a glass of wine and enjoy their patio. It was very relaxing out there. We then decided to purchase a few more glasses and sit indoors in the comfy couches. It was very relaxing in there as well despite the wedding traffic. We had a really great experience here and are already discussing coming back out and bringing family/friends. I am not a wine connoisseur by any means (far from it), but I know I really enjoy the sweeter wines. So this was definitely a place I truly liked.

As other reviewers noted...5 tastings for $5. Very small samples, so 5 tastings done in a few minutes. Larger tastings and chairs at the bar would make for a better experience. Probably would have bought more than one bottle of wine, if they had been a little more liberal in their servings.Had a Groupon, for side basket of crackers, cheese, etc. Sesame sticks were rancid...past expiration date. Many of the other items were in their last month, or so, before expiration. Don't know if it was coincidence, or they were just getting rid of extras. Probably don't sell a lot of these (they aren't out for display...so if you get basket...check expirations before leaving.

So this is our 2nd time to this winery and both times we have had Mark as our host. He is great! We came back specifically this time to buy their Reserve Port, which my group got 3 bottles of. The tasting room itself is very nicely decorated. As other reviewers have mentioned, they do have very few of their own wines, but their Port is worth the trip. My sister-in-law was specifically looking for sweet wines so this was the perfect place for her.

Attractive "Italian villa" style winery on a back road in the Hill Country. Beautiful, artsy interior with dark woods with lovely, colorful decor and inviting sitting areas. The wines they produce are sweet reds and whites that are perfect for Texas summers - and were not expensive at all. They do also have other wines for tasting, but they are not locally produced. My favorite was a white wine with flavors of grapefruit that was not too sweet and was very similar to a Napa chardonnay. The staff was very helpful and attentive (thank you, Tina!). Very enjoyable visit overall.

A lovely new (2011) wine-tasting venue on a back road in the Hill Country, worth the search if you enjoy sweet Texas wines or very lovely South Africa whites and reds.

Not far from Driftwood Winery lies Wimberley Valley Winery. Located near the town of Wimberley, this venue offers quests a lovely atmosphere and some fine wines for tasting. The joy of wine tasting is two-fold, first, one can sample a variety of wines, and second, one can enjoy the company of fellow travelers in a relaxing atmosphere. The staff was personable and knowledgeable and we enjoyed a pleasant time during a lovely afternoon on the continuation of our Texas Hill Country adventure.

Beautifully designed and decorated! I would love to have an event here. It was a great place to sit and relax and enjoy some wine. We tend to like sweet wines, and this was the place for that. If you are looking for real complex and/or dry wines you will be disappointed, though. If you come during the summer they have iced wine drinks - perfect match to sweet wines and hot, humid Texas summers! The 'taster" was very helpful and kind. They have a fun back porch with lots of kitschy touches like a bar made out of an old double-decker bus. This is the wine equivalent to a really fun paperback beach read - fun, refreshing, light and a little fruity, but not any real substance or depth.

Took my in laws here on Saturday on a mini wine tour around Driftwood. The lady we had was young but friendly. I got a free plastic cork screw for checking in on Yelp. The tasting room is large but dark. No windows. A huge fire place and couch. The counter is high. Too high for my taste as I am short. I don't like standing on my tip toes to read the tasting menu. The biggest surprise for us was that truly they only have five wines of their own. All sweet. Sweet red, blush and white but all sweet. You get 5 tastings for $5 but the entire right side of the menu is wines you can go taste at a Spec's. We did buy two bottles of Port as it was good and my in laws like Port. However, they didn't give us credit for the tastings on the bottles. One of my biggest annoyances with many wineries these days. They have some small horses, donkeys and lamas out front. No outdoor space at all to enjoy a glass of wine. I don't think we will be back until a few things change. Other wineries in the area deserve our time and money.

First of all I am not a wine experts and don't drink wine that often. We stopped by and did the typical 5 wine tasting. The bar area was nice and the staff very friendly. I'll leave the wine review to others that know more about wine that I. ( I like a couple and dis-liked a couple).

I prefer sweet reds so this was a good location for me. I didn't like teh Sangria but the rest were very yummy. We ordered the cheese, salami and cracker basket and enjoyed the tasting. The counter space is very smeall for eating with the wines but we made due. Christina was very friendly and helpful. Can't complain too much for a $5 tasting =)
