I went out for a chl class. The people were friendly, the range was 1st time shooter friendly, and the area was very pretty. Ill be back soon for sure.

This place looks like its going to be awesome. I just wandered over there after I bought a new 1911 at Cabelas. It wasnt open, but the owner was super friendly and gave me a tour. Even let me shoot on his property and gave me info on his Hunt Club. Opens day after Christmas. I know where I will be with my new stocking stuffers. Thanks bud, seems like a great place to put some rounds down range

Came to visit Texas after moving away awhile back. I went to The Shooting Ranch just on the south edge of Austin. I was shocked at how I was only 15 minutes from downtown but it seemed like I was in the middle of the rolling plains. Myself and three friends (two girls and another guy) pulled down a long dirt road and saw what kinda looked like an old west general store. The place had lots of patrons there already so we got in line and walked up to the office. We paid the day pass fee of $22 bucks and each picked up a rental gun as well. The range was really cool and we ended up renting some full auto guns as well. I had never shot a gun before so this was a fun experience. They had about 60 or so spots to shoot with a variety of targets. Probably the most fun was the junk cars and the competition shooting against a friend on the dueling tree. I think I personally spent about $75 bucks all together including ammo rentals and the day pass, and stayed about three hours. I had so much fun that I joined the honorary unorganized militia (lol). They have a cool picture wall on the side of an old barn to pose with your friends and your range girl will snap a picture for ya. At dark they make a cool campfire so you can watch the sun go down. The sunset was incredible, make sure to bring a lawn chair so you can sit out by the fire to relax after a long day of shooting.
