I found this museum by looking through some local touring literature. I drove by it one day, but didn't see anywhere to park, so I did some more research before striking out again. What you need to do is first go to the Visitor's Center next door. That, in itself, is something you want to go to anyway while you're in the area. It's a top-notch place to start your visits in the area; even if you're familiar with this area, you may just learn something new to see! Plus, the folks that work there are really nice, and there's a gift shop and restroom facilities inside ... and a nice front porch with white rocking chairs out front.Anyway, if they are doing tours to the next door Great Lakes to Florida Highway Museum, then you can pay admission at the Visitor's Center gift shop (it's about $5). A guide will walk you down to the museum. It is a nice, short walk. My mom and I had our own guide. The museum is small, inside of a restored gas station. You will learn about Highway 21, which was the main thoroughfare back in the day between Ohio and Florida. This gas station at Wytheville marked the half-way point.I enjoyed my visit here very much, it's something worthwhile to see and learn about. Nice job!
