A friend and I stayed at Piney Grove and I'll review that in the hotel portion. The owner's son also offers walking tours on weekends, and there's a self- guided one for other times. Honestly, it's not much. If you're driving by (which would be unusual - it's in the country), then go for it. There are several old buildings, most of which were saved from demolition and relocated to the site, and a short nature trail. The main house started as a corn crib! that grew. I was there in December so the gardens weren't at their best. It's worth a couple bucks and a little time, but not a special trip unless you're just looking for a filler activity.

We loved the house! Brian greeted us with hot toddies, and when we got back from dinner, Joan had a fire going in our woodstove. Breakfast was delicious!! The property was very cool, we will try to make it back there again for sure!
