This was a delightful evening of film and dance with David Dorfman, Lisa Race (his wife) and Samson Race Dorfman (his son). David is an artistic director who is currently Professor of Dance and Department Chair at Connecticut College in New London, CT. The school has been known for its innovations in dance since the 1950's. The performance was intense and beautiful incorporating many emotional elements. Pieces were explained by David before performing to enhance the audiences experience of the movements and visuals. The mission of the La Gura Center is to serve and strengthen community in a historic space where a diverse array of activities creates opportunities for people to come together and connect. I have been here for lectures on art, music concerts and film previews.There is always art on the walls for viewing and purchase prior to all activities. It is a great place to visit.
