There is a lot of produce here, some presumably from local farms, but others that must be from away, since it's available before the local season for that produce.Prices are on the high side, which I guess is consistent with farmers markets. The Stonington Seafood Harvesters shop is across the street with free samples of the greatest sea scallops!

For a wonderful day in the last commercial fishing village in Connecticut, you should make a trip to Stonington on a Saturday morning. The market is held on the green by the docks so there in itself is an interesting attraction. The local farmers and lobstermen hold a Farmer's Market with nothing but locally grown produce and fresh caught seafood and lobsters. It also includes homemade jams, breads and pastries. The village itself is delightful with all it's little shops and restaurants along the ocean. I find everyone at the market so pleasant to deal with and equally proud of the product they are selling. The lobsters are bought right off the boat by Lady Lynn lobster company. You can not beat the freshness of those lobsters. I would definitely recommend the Farmer's Market as a stop if you plan a visit to Stonington.
