Rude Staff. POOR , POOR MANAGEMENT!!! Casino doesnt pay out !! Money you play is used to compensate the terrible renovation and so called upgrade of casino. Atm machine took money and staff was not helpful in resolving problem.

For everyone that has not been in 2015, they have really stepped their game up. I went one year ago, jan 2014 and it was piss poor awful. I told myself I would not return and told the resort the same thing. They invited me to come back for a two night stay and it took me a year to finally convince myself to try again. Only being 2 hours away we decided to drive in that same night we wanted a room. They had it for us after a few hours in the casino and it was comped just like they had said. They also made sure we were extra comfy in our room, which looked to be newly renovated. Everything worked unlike a year ago. It was clean and smelled nice too. The casino was very fun as well. We had up and down luck on the slots as you would expect. No worse than I would have thought. Also we gave the saturday seafood buffet a try since last time it was awful too. This time it was phenomenal. It was a 100% improvement from a year ago and I highly encourage everyone to now give it a try since they are clearly under new management. The lower level staff was seriously so friendly this time too y'all. Last time they were actually rude. I'm sort of in disbelief it's the same place.

We stayed just one night at this Casino. The room still had bottle tops on the floor from the last guests and there were no towels in the bathroom. What made things worse was that the staff didn't seem to be concerned and did not rush to put things right. The staffs poor attitude was reflected right across the whole operation, in the dining areas and on the casino floor.Sullen, disinterested and in some cases downright shabby. The food in the buffet area was good quality with a wide choice, which is the only positive thing I can think of.

We have been going on a regular basis to Pearl River and seen a huge decline in customer service and attitudes of the staff. We have been disappointed with the room service numerous times. They put you at the Golden Moon in a suite and then you call for room service to find out that they are short staffed and cannot provide room service or it will take 2 hours to get served. I can tell you stories that we have been told that were unbelievable from the elevators are not working to they can't get over across the street to deliver room service. Then there is the unfriendly hotel check in at the Golden Moon, those employees should get some training on how to treat a customer. Two and half hour wait after check in time to get in a room is ridiculous! Then there is the casino floor waitresses. WOW! Have you ever spent $3500 and not even seen a waitress for what they call a "free drink"? How crazy is that? When you do get one it is another 1-2 hours to get another one. Then you go to the bar where the bartender complains about having to fix you a drink and states he is not supposed to make us a drink, what the heck does a bartender do? Then Wanted to charge us for the drink. Then finally, the slot machines. I understand "gambling" and the concept but my goodness, could they not let the machines give you a little so you can sit and play for a few minutes. We have literally gone in and within 45 mins lost over $1000.00. A lot of change needs to happen in Choctaw MS in our opinion to improve the customer experience for repeat business! I hear Wind Creek in Alabama is stepping up their game! That's where we will be Phyllis!

I used to greatly enjoy going to pearl river resort several times a month. But lately I have had to stop going because there is not even the prospect of even getting a $20.00 payout on a machine. I can put over $200 dollars in a machine and not even see a hit for $20.00 dollars while I understand you cannot always win money when you go to a casino. I cannot for the life of me understand why I cannot even see a small light of hope on the slots. Also I never see anybody hitting any significant jackpots while there are constant claims of this jackpot or that jackpot winner. I for one refuse to continue to go to a casino that continues to drain my money and not even give me the hopeful prospect of winning any money. Also any machines that did pay out at one time or constantly being replace by new ones that do not pay any money at. Its one thing if you have a big hit and play all the money back its a whole other thing to never hit for anything. I will be driving to Biloxi or Tunica now while the drive is a little longer the hope they provide is worth the risk.

My family & I visited this casino today 2/8/14. I had one of the most horrible experience ever. We come at least 3-4 times a year with a large group. Today the machines were doing fair for most part, then one of the associates came and did something to one of the machines we was on. It did not hit any more after that (suspicious huh) Then we sat and had dinner which was $25/pp the server/service was HORRIBLE. I asked to speak to a manager, some guy said he was a supervisor and begin to hear our issue. My glass was empty for at least 30 min. The server had an attitude when I asked for a refill. I told the supervisor this will be this group last time coming. We will support our own state or go to Tennessee. He went on & on about some nonsense. I did not fill comforted at all. Therefore our money will go elsewhere. Go luck in business and I hope it get better for the rest of your customers. Count this 100 out!!

Last week I visited Pearl River Resort and was pleasantly surprised to see that they had significantly updated their slot floor, adding many new Konami and Williams Gaming machines. I saw at Pearl River most of the newest slots that I see in the Mississippi Coast casinos. However, they were very tight. Really tight slots have been the case for some time now--at least for me. While I know that it's being at the right slot at the right time that determines a good win, it seems much harder to find that right slot and right time at Pearl River than at the Coast casinos. Perhaps lack of nearby competition enables the Silver Star to return a smaller percentage to players. A plus for the casino is that self-serve soft drink, tea, coffee and hot chocolate stations are scattered throughout. I stayed in the Silver Star Hotel and had lunch at the buffet. I have stayed in the hotel a number of times and all the rooms I've stayed in have been in need of renovation and at least one safety feature: The shower-tub combinations need need grab bars. The tubs are quite high-walled and really test the balance and agility of seniors. Some of the TVs I've seen appear to be the original TVs. The room I was in this week had a hole in the spread. Usually the food at the buffet is quite tasty. Perhaps I caught it on an off day, but quality was missing this time. For example, there seemed to be more mayo than tuna in the tuna salad, the fried mushrooms narrowly escaped being called "burned," and the stir fry I tried had a meat I couldn't name overfried to the extent that it was impossible to chew. I did note that tables and chairs in the buffet have been replaced, a move which was needed. Over-all, I'd say that slowly but surely the new regime seems to be trying to go in the right direction to recover ground it lost through very poor management.
