Freedom Hill is a beautiful park owned and ran by Macomb County. It is in a perfect location along Metro Parkway and more importantly the bike path that runs along Metro Parkway. It is free to access and a perfect place for a nice picnic or lunch. The amphitheater that is attached to the park has many concerts durning the summer months. The amphitheater is privately owned and has no affiliation with he park itself.

I went to freedom hill to see the Offspring and Rise Against during the Chill on the Hill event. It rocked my socks off and the amphitheater was very nice and well maintained. If you want to have a good time at a low price, I would suggest lawn seat tickets. The view is not bad and the acoustics are not bad either. I will definitely be going back!

My husband and I spent the summer reliving the 80's and attended a lot of concerts, most of which were at DTE. I really love DTE. The grounds are beautiful and the pavilion is great. After coming to Freedom Hill, I would rank it even higher. The concessions feel very much like a food festival rather than the traditional concert offerings. They had sandwiches, Mediterranean food, fruit smoothies, desserts, all of which were reasonably priced. Beer is cheaper at Freedom Hill ($7) vs. DTE ($10). The concert - well, my pet peeve is when a band replaces a singer who isn't even close to the original and still carries on as if they are the same band. Skid Row - you know who I'm talking about :). But - certainly not the venue's fault. Tip - Stay at the Hampton Inn in Sterling Heights. Great place.

When I wanted to see a Styx/Foreigner concert with a friend and told I had to drive, I panicked. I was also in charge of ordering the tickets, two things I've never done before. It was so easy, thanks to the easy to use website axs.com for ordering the $10 lawn tickets, and the ease and convenience of the parking lot that is sooooo close to home. I am now looking forward to seeing yet another concert in a couple of weeks, thanks to the wonderful experience I had a Freedom Hill in Sterling Heights. I was able to sit back and relax and enjoy the music coming from two bands that I grew up with. The only disappointment is that they do not have larger screens behind and on both sides of the stage, making it difficult for concertgoers to see the wrinkled faces of the voices that sing sweet melodies of the past. LOLNow that I'm experienced with the place, I found out you can buy tickets at their box office without any fees. If you choose to order online for convenience, axs.com does a great job, but there is a $4.15 fee.One last note, there is no charge for parking, and you can come when the gates open and have pizza, subs, drinks in the lot ( that you bring of course) with friends before the concert starts.

Incredible place to see a concert. The lawn area seemed to be located towards the top of the hill which looked as if it would block full view. Not sure if they had Video Monitors at the top. Whoever designed the venue didn't pay attention to the Sun passing over head in the Summer's evenings as about 7:30pm-8:30pm was tanning weather in the front rows. However the acoustics and the setting were incredible evening. All very talented, and of course the Most Grammy winning performer in history: Alison Krauss. Incredible show. Great Venue. Worth the trip!!!! Only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars was the Sun setting on the left side, which was almost blinding at times.

The park is dedicated to veterans and nicely done. Lots of shaded clean picnic area. The amphitheater was really nice and they held a great concert. They could stand a little better organization in handling concerts but overall they were friendly and helpful. The seating is great, even the back rows can see perfectly.

Freedom Hill Amphitheatre was the place to see Michael Franks on a beautiful sunny August evening. What a perfect place to see an outdoor concert. Plenty of parking and great vendors. Prices are a little high for snack and beverages but it did not spoil the evening. A wonderful time was had by all!! I will be going back here in the near future.
