While the trail system is more open after trees were cut down on some of the system, this is a very good set of looped cross-country trails that we believe are also groomed regularly. The Mason Tract trail nearby is a ski-in-ski-out and now also is regularly groomed by volunteers of the Friends of the Mason Tract.

Just at the edge of Roscommon, the Tisdale Triangle is a series of trails that you can spend hours on and not be that far from town or a road. Good hiking trails for the summer/fall.

Our family of three wanted to go hiking in the area and choose this hike because it was close-by where we were staying and listed as a 10 mile hike. When we arrived there were signs that said we were required to have a pass, but no place nearby to purchase one, so we parked anyway. We didn't see a single other person on this hike so it was very quiet and rustic. The path was well-marked with blue triangles (it's also a cross country trail in the winter). The only reason that I gave it 4-stars instead of 5 is for two reasons: some shade and lots of bugs, otherwise an enjoyable family hike.
