Lots of stairs ! But worth the scenic views once you finish. Great for something free to do on a nice day for the whole family. One of a kind experience that really shows how beautiful this area is!

First of all, this is called Iargo Springs. It is located on the Scenic Byway from Oscoda, Michigan, at US 23, to M65, along the AuSable River. It is a beautiful outlook at any time of the year. There is a wooden staircase built taking you down to the banks of the AuSable River and then wooden walkways to view nature close up. Perfect for the entire family with many places to stop and sit to take in the view. Warning: the stairs have several hundred steps which may be problematic for some individuals, however there are several benches built in along the way so people can stop and rest. This attraction is near Lumberman's Monument, the Highbanks and Canoers Memorial. Be on the lookout for eagles and other abundant wildlife, including ducks, turtles, frogs, deer, beaver, etc. Worth a couple hours of your time and it's FREE!

This location is misspelled on tripadvisor, which is not unusual because upper case I looks like lower case L. Take the River Road tour and enjoy all the stops along the way. Iargo Springs is a developed site with much scenic beauty and attraction. Be advised that many steps up and down are required, and my be a challenge to folks with knee problems or other issues. When I was a kid we used to get water from these springs before the USFS developed the site. Pair this with Lumbermens Monument, the Canoe Memorial stop and you have a great day viewing Michigan's premier river from high banks with Pure Michigan beauty.

As travelers to the UP for waterfalls, finding a beautiful site such as this in the LP was simply priceless. They have a wonderful network of stairs and walkways. Fun for the whole family. Warning, 300+/- steps to get back up to your car after you walk down to see the springs. :)

Along River Road, this is nature at its best! Breathtaking views and scenery. For those out of shape, the stairs leading to various springs may be a tad daunting. Going down, not bad. Coming up, say your prayers! BUT it was very much worth it. Very beautiful and tranquil. I would do it again in a heartbeat.
