hunt's canoes & miniature golf

Took a nice 2.5 hour canoe ride down the river, took in a game of putt-putt after on an old-fashioned course. Staff were happy to help with everything.

This is a must-do if you are in Oscoda in the summer. Fantastic views as you come down the Ausable River in a canoe. Beware the distance thought - Foote Dam is the longest ride, and can take you 5-6 hours if you not experienced rowers in a canoe. For a 2-3 Hour ride start off at The Whirlpool. Hunts has this all set up really well, they will drop you off where you want and then you simply make your way back down the river. Keep all your keys / phones / wallet in sealed waterproof bags, so that if you go over (we did twice), hopefully nothing will get lost / damaged. Take food & Drink, and stop off at any of the many small beaches along the river. It's a fantastic day out.

My family has been going to Hunts for canoeing since the late 1990s and have always had fantastic experiences. Our recent trip was no different. They offer a variety of trips and transport to the launch points. The staff are very helpful and friendly. We would recommend to anyone looking to canoe/raft/kayak down the AuSable.

Time and time again I've come back to Hunts because I enjoy the people who work there. They'll give you great information on the area while taking you to the drop off point on the river.
