We've gone to the majority of the wineries in Traverse City/Suttons Bay. This one is always one of our favorites. My husband enjoys the Hawkins Red and I like the Cherry Wine and Riesling Harvest Select. Sampled the Peach Fizz and really enjoyed that one as well, would be perfect for an evening, summer sipper.

This was one of the stops on our wine tasting tour. We participated in a promotion called "Soups and Sips" which included samples of wine and soup from a variety of different wineries. The proprietor served us a hearty stew with big pieces of sausage. I absolutely loved the stew. We were also able to try several of the different wines. We really liked this place. They also sell some interesting, locally produced food items.

We had fun and bought a few of the wines we tried. Nice outside area if it's warm enough. Beautiful drive to Suttons Bay!

Chateau de Leelanau is an EXCELLENT 1st stop for splendid Michigan white wines & warm greetings by the wine trail president Matt Gregory, himself. Here you will learn about the long, rich history of Michigan wine-making and why certain varietals do best in this growing region. Prices are reasonable and wines are fabulous to take home for continued enjoyment.

So we're in Michigan on vacation for the second year in a row. We got cherry wine at Douglas Winery last year but this year is not ready yet. We decided to try a couple other wineries for cherry wine since we found it so good. The cherry wine here is the best! It won awards and is very worth it. Definitely like cherry pie in a bottle. We will be back when our 6 bottles run out.

My husband and I are both in the service industry and know how it feels when someone walks in a few minutes before closing time. We were those people and you wouldn't have known it! Matt was amazing he took time with us and made us feel welcome! We always strive to make people happy and feel as if there time is just as valuable as ours and he definitely hit the mark on that! We will absolutely be repeat customers! Give this young entrepreneur your time and money his wine and cider are worth every penny!

We make a stop at Chateau de Leelanau every fall during Toast the Season and we love it there! The chili they serve for the weekend is sooo yummy and all the employees are so much fun! They let us talk them into bringing out the giant wine glass :) SO MUCH FUN!

This was the only winery my fiance and I didn't have any samples. We were unnoticed for quite some time. They also were out of many items. There is a fee here for drinks. We decided because the staff seemed very overwhelmed and were out of many items we would take our business elsewhere.

This is my wife's favorite winery. When not busy they are very helpful and informative. This winery has a very wide selection of wines, many of them based on other fruits than grapes. Parking is pretty good and one of our favorites during Toast the Season promotion. I'd go so far as to say this is a 'don't miss' wineries.

This was our last stop after a day of tastings in the area. The wines were not too bad, but the staff really seemed uninterested in serving us. Maybe it was too close to closing time, but I would have appreciated a more cheerful and helpful girl doing our tasting. The tasting room was not very unique or appealing either. Some of the other wineries we stopped at had more character.

Stopped in to try some cider. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They have 1 cider available in a bottle and another in a growler.

This tasting room sits right off of the main road going through Sutton's Bay. The staff are very friendly & knowledgeable. I couldn't leave without a 1/2 gallon growler of their carmel apple hard cider. Hands down the best I had while checking out the area wineries in the Leelanau Peninsula.
