When gramma took the kiddo off our hands for a weekend, we decided to try a new place that we wouldn't necessarily take her. Kate's was a perfect date night spot. It was crowded when we arrived at 7 on a Friday night, but that's to be expected. With a national act putting on a show nearby, it wasn't out of the ordinary to wait...especially since we didn't make a reservation. Half hour at the bar, enjoying some great Malbec and we were seated. Each of us tried seafood inspired dishes. He had the Angry Seafood, a spicy sauce on a combination of shrimp, lobster, mussels, etc. I have a wild mushroom ravioli with seafood in a wine/cream sauce. I was told it was very popular...and it's no wonder. It was delish - even the next day when I finally finished it! For an app we went all out and got the fondue. spendy, but amazing and the beef tenderloin was the MOST TENDER I have ever experience. We will be back - soon!

My husband and I made a reservation at Kate's this past Saturday night. I had never been there before, and I was very impressed with the food, the service and the overall atmosphere. I have worked at a high end restaurant for the past three years, and so I tend to be very critical- especially of service. Our server was kind, polite, attentive and very knowledgable. She answered any question I had with ease, and although we were probably one of the last tables in the restaurant, she didn't act annoyed with our presence, and she didn't make us feel like she would rather be somewhere other than waiting on us. The food was VERY good! I was impressed with the plating, the high-quality taste of the food and the combination of flavor. And when the bill came, I was pleasantly surprised by the total. All in all, it was a fantastic experience!
