billy's sand trap at decatur lake golf course

I am torn on whether to give Billy's 3 or 4 stars. Until recently, it would be 4 stars, hands down. This has consistently been one of our favorite places to come and have lunch or for the Friday fish fry. The only bad experiences we've had in the past was when the place is busy, as it usually is on Friday nights, the service could be painfully slow - which is fine. Lately though, the quality has taken a bit of a downturn. The last 3 meals we had there were disappointments, so we've started to try other places. I hope the slide isn't permanent because it's setting on the golf course is just beautiful.

For about $12 - all-you-can-eat beer battered cod with salad bar and choice of potato. It's a tad pricey for the quality of the salad bar and no dinner rolls / bread. You are served a basket of crackers - salad bar has the bare basics - but includes very good coleslaw, tastes like KFC. The fish is very good and the potato pancakes have herbs cooked in - very good! The wall of windows overlook the course and there is outdoor dining weather permitting. Good place to try!
