For anyone who enjoyed the movie...this a treat. There are life size replicas of characters and lots of history regarding the making of the movie. Its like an oasis in the desert when traveling through Kansas. It is a walk through museum and it has a gift shop. I visited in July of 2012 and just now getting around to reviewing it so I'm not sure if the cost of admission has gone up.

Went there a year or so ago. I can't remember the dates for sure. It was interesting and we enjoyed it.

They even have the flats from MGM movie set. What a treat that is to be able to see that historic flat of Dorothy's house.

We found this attraction on the internet and were encouraged by the highway billboards along the way. Wow, I think they took the set from a high school production from 1970s and left it out to weather in the garden ever since. There is a nice bronze statue of Dorothy and Toto. That is the only nice thing to say.

Each time I travel through Kansas I make sure I take a detour to see this museum. Although it might be getting a little bit old I love how you can go from Dorothy's house down the yellow brick road into the world of Oz. The museum gift shop always has a lot of fun things to purchase and everyone is very friendly. They've added a tour guide since the first time I visited the museum. My hopes is to one day make it to the October festival.

I have taken many visitors here and they all seem to enjoy the hometown friendliness of "Dorothy". It's worth taking the time to visit!

Our time was from 2-4 on Sunday. We got there at 1:30 - and still had an hour wait until we got even close to the ski lifts - Then once we got up there - still had to wait behind hoards of people taking photo's and way behind on their tour. Once we got to Dorothy's house - we had a number - which we had no idea why - finally we asked - and we had to wait another hour before going in and starting the tour. Only one vendor left no food or drinks -the one vendor only had popcorn (which they ran out) and coffee. The line was so long you would miss your number if you got in line. Lots of people dressed up - that was cute. No where to sit either. Just horrible. I couldn't wait to get out of there. Wish it has been better. Terribly organized. Maybe the earlier people faired better.

really not much to see - gift shop was closed - I think it needs a lot of new upgrades - grass was not trimmed, bushes and plants looked worn -

Looks like any other old house in Kansas. My Adult Daughter really wanted to stop here. When she asked if she could take a tour the Proprietors said that they might be having lunch at 11:00 and were not sure when a good time for a tour would be. The grandkids would have been just as happy if not happier playing at a truck stop.

We followed the Yellow brick road to a great little museum. Saw bricks from Ronald & Nancy Reagon as well as Judy Garland's daughter, Liza Minelli. And it was wheel chair accessible.

My three daughters loved it. I thought it was a bit run down outside, but they had a blast. We took the guided tour and and my girls loved all the scenery in the warehouse. I thought the one in Wamego, Kansas was better.

When we showed up we decided to take a look at the place and make our decision based on that instead of the reviews. The place was empty and what was outside needed updating so bad that we were like, ya lets move on. We took a few photos and then found a tractor graveyard next door and took some amazing pictures of that instead. Spent about 30 minutes taking beautiful photos.

Stop by and take a photo. But I wouldn't do much more. There is a free museum there about the local area. Take a quick peek if you like. Nothing earth shattering inside. $7/head seems quite steep for a guided tour.

As my family and I were driving through Liberal, we happened to notice the "Home of Dorothy Gale" billboard and my mother and I, being such fans of The Wizard of Oz, had to stop and take a look. The tour begins with a look inside a 1911 style home and all of the appliances, toys, and every day objects that Dorothy, Pa, and Auntie Em would have used. It was actually very enlightening and educational for us. After that, you walk though the Land of Oz and relive the story. All of us enjoyed it, even though the upkeep in The Land of Oz was sorely lacking in some areas (out of all of the animated props, only three seemed to be working). Very much enjoyed this.
