Summit Lake is not the "showiest" of Indiana's state parks but it is a lovely place for campers and/or boaters to spend some time. There are several trails for walking, roads for biking, lakeside shelters for event rentals...it's a long drive (for us) for a day trip but if you are in the vicinity, lucky you! Summit Lake SP is one of the smaller state parks but a very pretty spot.

We really enjoyed camping at Summit Lake. Their newest part of the campground has some nice big huge campsites, very nice for those of you who have bigger campers. They also have boat ramps and a beach for swimming. Their trails are nice but need to be better marked. Definitely a good place for a nice quiet weekend away.

We used this as a training ride for bike touring. Campground is 7 miles from the bike trail. Campground has clean bathrooms, hot showers , nice lake view and good tent sites. Route 36 is a little busy for riding a bike but fine on Sunday am.

Great campground all around. Great sites and friendly people. Decent size lake for most boats to go out on.
