Haven't been to the winery location, but have dealt with the owners a few times at the Indy Home Show and boat sport and travel show and have also purchased directly from owners and picked up at their home on the north side of Indy. Simply put...this is the best fruity/dessert type wine I've ever tasted, and my wife and I drink a lot of wine, and have been to many winery's. The raspberry, cherry, blueberry, and cranberry are extremely fruity, tart, and flavorful. Like...amazing. nothing else compares to these. If you think you have tasted it all, try these fruity wines. Truly one of a kind. Have never found anybody that didn't live them after trying them.

We had started out to do a winery crawl, thinking we could see 6 or 7 wineries and do lunch in Bloomington. We didn't hit that mark, due to some timing issues and a few brushes with being lost. We had been to Carousel when it was right of Hwy 37, but knew they had moved. We got some detailed instructions via phone, but as we followed them we began to doubt our wisdom in pursuing this particular experience. Just past the entrance to Spring Mill we turned off and soon found ourselves in a questionable looking area that was very rural. We found the driveway finally, after almost turning around, and it was apparent that the winery was really in the process of reestablishing itself. I worried about what type of wine we would encounter. When the lovely proprietress announced the first wine we should try was their Aglianico I was impressed they would give it a try. . .I was even more impressed when I tasted the wine. It was beautiful! Well crafted, true to the varietal, simply an excellent wine. The Pinotage was also excellent. We finished out our tasting with the Cherry--normally a wine not to my taste, as many wineries make it way too sweet. This was spot on--tart, refreshing and balanced. I purchased several bottles of wine and will definitely be a return customer. Go here! You will not regret the experience.

We were looking for an off the beaten path winery and we sure did find it at Carousel. It's actually located in south Mitchell, IN but so worth the drive. Ms. Sue is absolutely delightful. The tasting room is quaint and the newly constructed. The wine club is a great deal and we are looking forward to the upcoming events. I must say the Pinotage is the most delicious wine that has ever parted my lips. I'm savoring ever sip of my case and a half until it becomes available again in 2016.

We were doing the Uplands Wine Tour and Carousel Winery used to be part of that, it is not at this time. This Winery is difficult to get to since their move, it can't be found with a GPS. Call ahead and they will give you directions. Their wine selection is limited right now, but they have our usual favorites from them.

We were looking to do a day trip and found Carousel Winery on the Indiana Wines website. It's a hidden gem in the rolling countryside of Southern Indiana. The wines were some of the best we've tasted. The handcrafted Indiana limestone bar is the most outstanding I've seen (and we've been to ALOT of wineries). They are under construction, but we didn't mind - it shows progress. The owners were welcoming & engaging - full of stories that kept us entertained while we sipped wine. I don't understand people complaining that it's out of the way. That's part of the fun! Plus the "way" is one gorgeous vista after another - whether coming from the west (Mitchell) or the northwest (Bedford). We look forward to returning when the construction is completed.

I can see all the complaining about the new store location. You go across the low little bridge and you think how far was is after turning off Hw 60. Oh and the not having the building finished is because the move took longer. I have bought their wine for 3 years and have not been let down.

Just returned home from a delightful trip to Carousel Winery. A little farther to get to than their previous location, but well worth it! I had so much fun and really enjoyed chatting with Sue and sipping on some of their extraordinarily fine wines. I don't understand why some people are giving this Winery bad reviews. I have purchased all of my wine there since they first opened and have never been disappointed! They have remained constant in their abilities to be accomodating and friendly to their customers. Plus they offer a nice discount if you buy 6 or 12 bottles at once. I really appreciate that in this day and age! If you haven't tried their wines, you definitely should! Location may seem a little backwoods, but the wines are top notch!

People who are beautiful from the inside out, find beauty in whatever they behold. Thank you Beautiful Person for the wonderful review!

This winery is WAAAAYYYY out in the middle of a cornfield. Literally. The directions are poor and we thought we were lost. The "tasting room" is a glorified steel shed. It is not yet finished and they definitely should not have opened yet. The ceilings are open. The walls weren't dry walled. The floor cement. No restroom and there is a toilet in the middle of the tasting room. The "samples," if you can call them that, were not more than a teaspoon in a small plastic medicine cup. Stingiest samples I've ever seen. The barista, if that's what she was, was not knowledgeable nor professional appearing, and, she told rather inapproprate stories. She made us feel like we were imposing on her and that we were being greedy by asking to taste this or that. The wine itself was merely mediocre. I wouldn't have bought a thing, but my partner in crime did end up with one bottle. I would highly discourage this winery, unfortunately. It is not worth the trip. Best thing about it for us is an unbelievably funny anecdotal story to tell. So sad. Not surprising they've been removed off the wine trail. We were told by another that there have been many complains.

Wine is good, but they have moved their establishment and its not quite ready for customers. The tasting area didn't have walls up yet, just installation. It is quite far off the main path, unlike their old store. The drive out looked like something out of the movie Joyride. They were not very professional or welcoming. We will not be going back, but may order a bottle of wine. We stopped by on the way home to get a bottle of wine and were told our kids were not allowed, so keep that in mind too if you have children along.

Recently moved to the country this winery is set on an absolutely beautiful plot of land! The trip out was a beautiful drive and I had a blast upon arrival. The wine was absolutely delicious. I'm a huge fan of dry red wine and their Aglianico was the best I've ever had. i could drink that wine all day! They have several sweet wines that can't be beat as well. The girl running the tasting room was very friendly and I ended up staying quite a while just chatting with her. After that she introduced me to the owners and I have to say I was quite charmed with them. Overall this was my best winery experience to date. They're bottling several wines this coming week and I'll be making a return trip very soon! I highly recommend visiting them!

This is a nice winery but small, it lacks an outdoor area for picics and enjoying a nice glass of wine. Friendly people though.

We had a little trouble trouble finding this winery because the building is so unassuming we missed it even though it's right off the highway. We were so glad we didn't give up! It turned out to be a really neat little winery. Our hostess Dawn was extremely personable and the entire group had an awesome time. We will be back!

We have been to Carousel Winery many times. We have always found the owners to be very friendly and accommodating. Many a time we have stood and chatted and been very warmly welcomed. Our family has a Pig Roast every year and some of us usually go out to the winery and visit. I would reccommend this winery (my favorite is the Cherry Wine, it's like a piece of cherry pie!).

My husband & I stopped at Carousel on our way home after spending the night at the West Baden Hotel. It's my birthday today, 4/5 and he planned a glorious week-end for me. I am glad I didn't read the negative review before making a stop as I may have missed out on possibly the best wine I've tasted in years. While I don't doubt the experience happened in the above description, after meeting this struggling elderly couple, I imagined worry, fear. & anxiety was translated to rudeness. This couple, once ran a lucrative interior design business and decided to risk it all 6 years ago pursuing a dream. Unfortunately the effects of the poor economy has taken it's toll on their venture. We found Sue & Marion to be a delightful old couple who loved their dogs and wine. Do not pass this winery up! We bought 1/2 case and plan to visit whenever we get the chance. The Aglianico is the best dry red I've ever tasted. Please excuse typos as I am texting from my iPhone on a bumpy St Rd 37.
