I am certainly not an expert on military but every time I have visited this base I am more pleased with it. I have visited with family members and I also attended camp here. Everyone has been kind and understanding. Each time I go it seems like there is more to do than the last time. I believe that it is a good place to visit, especially youth, to see what it is truly like.

Was here for DEMOBing after leaving Africa and had to stay later than some due to medical issues. The majority of the civillian staff were helpful especially at the USO and the Holding Company. Located on the site of former WWII POW barracks, plenty of history to include a POW chapel.Near Johnson Co parks.

This is one of the few training bases in the US for our troups. You can drive through the base. Be sure and visit the Chapel. It was built by the POWs during WWII.

Talk about busy! Atterbury always has something going on! They have programs for troubled teens and also inmates, which I think is great. Seems very safe and organized.

The Camp Atterbury Rock is cool. It and the POW Chapel were made by POW's from Italy. There is a pool and lots of nice fishing lakes there.
