The greens were slow but we were out on the course bright and early with the dew still on many of them - we were ahead of the green mower at times. :) The management was extremely courteous, allowing the early start, letting us play 9 and then deciding to continue through 18, and making a deal for the purchase of a glove and golf shoes. All in all - was just what we were looking for. Fairways - were a bit hard and patchy in places; however, if I had stayed in the correct line I never would have had to worry about that!

Recently taken over by new owners who are trying to fix the course up......Still in terrible condition. Even the locals don't play there even though it has a bargain price.

The people are friendly and the layout is OK, but the greens are slow and don't hold. Even worse is the condition of the fairways - patches of weeds interspersed among hard sand. It is like hitting the ball off of pavement. I know that such conditions are sometimes found in southern courses (at least according to friends who spend the winter in central Florida) but not at courses that are well tended.I have played at Goose Creek many times in the past and always found it to be in better condition than it was this time. The root-heaved cart paths are worse than ever before. It seems to have slipped badly in the past couple of years.
