We love to visit breweries and wineries so we stopped in when staying overnight on a trip down to Charleston. There was a nice mix of locals and tourists who were interested in souvenir items. I think they should stick to beer. My wine was not at all to my liking. We left with a growler of Imperial IPA for our son.

Different little micro brewery, it feels like you are in someone's man cave hanging out! The people were really nice, easy to make new friends and conversation. Tons of beer choices.

I have to admit, we were attracted by the name. Once there (it is hard to find in the back of the business park especially in the dark), it was much more serious than the name. A hardworking staff member welcomed us in right before closing. As we sampled beer and bought merchandise, he explained the beer making process. A few hits and a few misses with the huge selection of beers. Anything with fruit as an ingredient (grapefruit, raspberry) was tasty while anything with salt (salted caramel, bacon) was too salty and overwhelmed the beer taste.

Almost 5 starts. Just a hiccup with my wait. but other than that was very impressed. Just a great place to go and have some beers with friends. Picked up a cool shirt while i was there.

I stopped off here one friday afternoon, and tried their craft beers. I sampled the Summer IPA, Pale Ale, and a very interesting Sea Salt, Caramel, Dark Chocolate Stout. The staff here is great, and they also provide potato chips when sampling beer to clear your palate. Their motto at AssClown is: "Drink one, don't be one"!

They not only offers up high quality beers but they are truly pushing the "beer frontier" with their unique creations. They also offer some really cool merchandise. If you enjoy craft beers, I've not found anything else that comes close to what they are doing.

I had heard of this place through friends who had been. Just the name alone makes anyone want to know: what is it? AssClown is brew only. No food. They do have small bags of snacks like chips or nuts so you can soak up the alcohol but it's not a restaurant. AssClown is a brewery in what looks like a business center. It has a small bar, but also tables and comfy chairs so you can taste all the fun beers and ales they have. You can have a flight of smaller 6oz tasters or you can have a pint or you can get growlers to go. I had the jalapeño IPA, a smoked chipotle stout and some lighter citrus IPAs that were on the mild side. My favorite was the jalapeño. It was mildly spicy but tasted like fresh peppers. A great place to try new flavors in ales and stouts. Highly recommended.

On our way out of Charlotte we detoured to the tasting room, and were quite glad we did. Several unique craft beers to try and definitely not like most other breweries in the area. We went home with a growler of the cinnamon hazel ancho tart and will definitely be back next time we are near Charlotte.

I was in Cornelius visiting friends when i stumbled across this brewery and the name alone made me interested. The building is not easily found off of Bailey and tucked away. They had 9 unique flavors on draft and I got the sampler 4-7oz pours for 8 bucks! The beers were average but the ambience and atmosphere were delightful and hey it's something to do in Cornelius! The lone downside was the gentleman working was not particularly cordial or helpful and was at one point drinking an MGD at his own bar. He was not the owner so i gave the place a pass.

We stumbled upon this place by accident and I'm so glad we did. The owners are very nice and the spirits were delightful. If you are looking for a quiet place to hang out and not have the loud crowds of your typical bar this is your place...
