Lovely winery to spend an afternoon of tasting their many whites and reds! Very nice way to spend a late summer afternoon!

This was our second visit here using a Groupon for wine tasting. We spent a good couple of hours leisurely sampling and having a friendly conversation with Holly (the owner) and other customers. It is a nice "out in the country" location, but not far from town, easy to find if you follow the signs. The wines we sampled were all very good and we did purchase four of our favorites.Holly is quite friendly and very knowledgeable. The vineyard dogs are also friendly and enjoy a good back scratch.I only hope that when we come to visit a third time it will not be raining and chilly so we can sit outside!

I was on a a short wine tour with my folks who were visiting from out of town when we stopped in to this winery. After being greeted by a vague sense of dilapidation and a geriatric pit bull and yellow lab we found the owner (?) in the back near the tasting room which he then unlocked for us. We were hit with a wall of dog urine stench as we walked in. The owner got out his wine tasting list and informed us of how much it would cost to have the privilege of tasting his wine in this reeking room. We told him nicely that we would maybe like to just look around a bit. This was a bit of a stretch since unlike most wineries where there are small items for sale there was none of this here and you feel a bit a bit like you have intruded on his personal space. He seemed very put out that we weren't all going to be paying to taste the wine and replied "well......I guess THAT'S free". I couldn't get out of there fast enough. A decidedly negative end to an otherwise lovely day spent in other lovely vineyards.

A Blooming Hill is an absolutely wonderful winery midway between Portland and Forest Grove. Jim and Holly, the owners and winemakers, have a little paradise. They have a really nice Pinot Noir, grown on the grapes on the property. My favorite wine there right now is the "dry" blush. While this is not my normal taste, their blush is fantastic. You will be greeted by the two luckiest dogs on earth...Gemini and Trouble. They are pound dogs that ended up living in a winery. Holly also makes snacks...and they are great! It's a little out of the way, but well worth the drive!
