Beautiful view of the Missouri River. Clean facilities! Even though we were there during the off season and weren't able to visit the museum, we enjoyed the spectacular view. Highly recommend taking the time to stop!

A rest area with a beautiful view of the Missouri River! The staff was very friendly and informative. Well worth a stop!

It's a rest stop, but one you could spend a couple hours in. The exhibits are excellent and staff is first rate. You can wander around outside and take pictures of the views of the Missouri river.Definitely worth a stop!

This is much more than a rest area. It has Lewis and Clark artifacts. It has wonderful views of the Missouri River. It has the most helpful staff who can find information on anything in South Dakota. There are campgrounds on the west side of the river.

Beautiful views, and a really interesting historical museum -- After a long stretch of Interstate 90, you'll really enjoy taking a break here. Plenty of room to give your dog a nice walk too!

This is a frat place to stop for a break when traveling through South Dakota. The museum has interesting facts and exhibits, and the outside paths have great views of the Missouri River. The staff are friendly and helpful and are willing to share their expertise with visitors who stop by. The restrooms are clean and big, so one doesn't have to wait in a long line.

Excellent info and views of where they boated on the Missouri River. Plenty of brochures and info for the Badlands and Black Hills too.

This is a worthwhile stop with some interesting exhibits about Lewis and Clark, local Native American tribes, and local wildlife. There are also a manned information desk, modern, clean restrooms, and a bank of vending machines offering food&drink. Some peaceful hiking trails with spectacular views of the Missouri river and surrounding valley snake out from the building. Watch out for snakes! This just might be the most interesting rest area in the United States.

This gives a whole new meaning to "rest" area! Loved the small, interactive museum, giving you the history of Lewis and Clark's expedition. Took me awhile to realize I had to look up to see the boat replica. Loved the outside walking path of a view of the river. Wish we could have stayed more to explore and read more but totally worth this bathroom break!

Driving through and seeing the river is one thing, taking the stop and getting out of the car at the top of the hill, priceless. This view is amazing, and sadly, no photo can do it justice! I remember picnic-ing here with my mom, dad, and siblings 20 years ago. . .I now had the pleasure of making that stop with my husband and kids! Breathtaking!

The small stop along the way with well thought out displays. I really liked the way the did the "museum" rest stop.

While it is a rest area, I highly suggest making a rest stop here. It's a great mini museum combined with a great information center. There's beautiful scenery of the water and there's plenty of room to have a picnic and get out and stretch.

This is really a glorified highway rest stop (lots of brochures), but the exhibit is quite good, and the ladies behind the counter were very helpful. There is also a good view of the Missouri River, but it would have been better if they hadn't planted trees that block it. A good stop with kids - including outdoor area to run around in (but stay away from the cliff!).

I am highly interested in Lewis and Clark and their expedition. I had found out about this rest area on a website for Lewis and Clark and added it to our road trip stops. It's really neat! It is a small museum depicting the artifacts that would have been brought on the expedition as well as a replica of the keel boat. You can view the Missouri and imagine what the country would have seemed like to these men. I really appreciated this and for the short amount of time it takes to view it, you gain insight into an historical event.

Info center and cool free "mini museum" nice over look. Replica of the boat Lewis and Clark used. I'm glad we stopped.
