We have done this sleigh ride before and had a great time! So we did it again. We had a blast! They are the nicest folks.

We've tried 3 different sleigh rides over the years and this one tops them as best for friendliness, location away from town, and value.

What a great experience! We came to Eagle Creek Ranch on my birthday for a sleigh ride with our 2 small kids. It was a gorgeous 15-20 minute drive up into the mountains from Leavenworth, well worth it for such a breath-taking location! As it turns out, their regular trail had been icy and not safe that day, but instead of cancelling they worked hard to try out alternative routes with the horses and sleigh ahead of time and made sure we still had a great sleigh ride, and this was much appreciated. Our whole family, even the baby, enjoyed the sleigh ride so much! There aren't words to describe just how beautiful it is out there--a picture-perfect winter wonderland with the misty mountains, snowy scene, Christmas lights, and beautiful horses. Our driver was great; he told us all about the horses, answered questions, and delivered on their website's promise of corny jokes :) What fun! After we got back, he was so kind to let my daughter (who is obsessed with horses) wander the ranch and pet the other horses, all the while telling her their names and other info about them. She was in 7th heaven! We were out there for a while and just purely enjoyed the good scenery, company, and the whole experience. Thanks for the great birthday Eagle Creek Ranch! We'll be back for sure.

Wow! What a terrific experience! Friendly hosts and wonderful scenery. The horses are very well cared for, the staff is friendly and efficient, even the ranch dog is a good companion. Our daughters rode for an hour and a half, we walked along the meadow while we waited for them, accompanied by Molly, (the dog.) It was beautiful, relaxing and totally enjoyable for all of us. I heartily recommend this ranch for a pleasant day!Excellent prices for the excursion.

We just went to Eagle Creek ranch as a surprise for my kids while we were visiting Leavenworth. My kids love horses , but had never done "real" horseback riding. What an awesome experience we had. Our family and another couple went on the 1.5 hour ride through the mountains led and followed by a guide and the owner. Everyone was very friendly and the horses were terrific, which is what we needed since we were beginners. Be sure to call ahead to make reservations. I called a month ahead, but I'm sure you probably don't need to call that far ahead for early June. Once school is out I suspect it is busier. They have a great website (http://www.eaglecreek.ws) with the details and a good map for getting there from Leavenworth.

Takes a little extra time to make the drive but it was worth it. The sleigh held 12 of us and Brian (true Cowboy) took the reins. Piled with blankets our two horses carried us thru part of the National Forest with scenery to die for. Out for about an hour. Back towards the ranch house past the 100 plus year old barn still in working order and hot cider, a welcome refreshment. If you're so inclined, they have just built a sleigh for a couple only. Prices are more than reasonable. Don't miss this one!

Last month I went to Leavenworth, Washington which is a delightful town nestled between mountains, and we drove about 6 miles out of town to Eagle Creek Ranch for a fantastic experience! It had snowed about 14 inches the previous night (but the roads had been plowed) and it made for a gorgeous spectacular. The snow at the ranch was deep and the thousands of tall evergreen trees were loaded with so much snow we could see no green at all. The entire landscape was deep white pristine snow to match the trees-- and the sleigh ride was a dream come true. I have never seen so much white. It covered EVERYTHING. I have grown up in the Northwest US and live with snow cap mountains visible year round, but this was something I had never seen, where there was literally nothing but white everywhere we looked but especially the trees were amazing. I'm sure it is not always covered with this much white in the winter but we certainly lucked out for the day we were there. Before and after the sleigh ride (it was actually a large open wagon with snow runners attached) there was free hot apple cider (and cookies) in the barn with a fire burning in a stove. Very rustic, but warm. I will be going to Leavenworth again in a couple weeks with my siblings and spouses and plan to go to Eagle Creek Ranch for another sleigh ride. I hope we have a similar experience with such a glorious snow show. (they had plenty of blankets for us so we stayed quite warm on our ride)

Our family just spent weekend in Leavenworth, Wa. We had the most wonderful family sleigh ride. The trees were covered with snow and there was even a light snow fall. The driver was great, he explained the ranch activities, the horses and was interested in what the kids knew about Belgium horses. The ride was a good 35 minutes or more and the kids loved the cider after the ride.

We went as a couple. We enjoyed it immensely. Sweet staff. Wish it was longer ride and that we could have gone minus the other groups. Overall though I highly recommend this group for your sleigh ride experience. I agree with another customer that it wasn't as scenic as I would have hoped and as a child from another group quipped, "not fast enough". The horses take a leisurely pace.

We loved every bit of our winter sleigh ride. The big horses were gentle and the little grand children got to pet them afterwards. There was a nice warm tent where we went for hot chocolate and coffee afterwards to get nice and warm. Lots of blankets were provided for our comfort. The ride was about 40 minutes long, along the river and through the woods. It was beautiful, and we will do it again.

My family - 2 adults, 11 and 13 yr olds went for a 1.5 hr trail ride the first week of August. The owner (Mike) and his staff were amazing and the horses were wonderful. They weren't the typical trail ride horses. They could be directed with commands and each had their own personality. The ride is so nice on a hot day as you wind through the trees up the mountain and back again. The view from the top is great and the guide is well versed on the area. The staff took pictures of our family on the horses at the end and were very comfortable letting the kids pet the horses. The farm dogs and chickens were also a highlight for the kids. Thanks to the staff and the horses, this was a highlight of our holiday!

The horse rides are really cheap (less than $30 for more than an hour) and very well conducted. You ride up a mountain trail and then back to the ranch; this is a nice route even if not very scenic. The horses are well behaved and the guide is a funny guy (don't believe him when he tells you that your horse's name is Psycho or Terminator...) 8)

This trail ride was the highlight of our weekend getaway in Leavenworth. Staff was awesome and horses were mild mannered. Our kids loved it! Looking forward to a sleigh ride in the winter.

Loved every minute of our experience- from the beautiful drive from Leavenworth, to driving down the driveway and being greeted by the owners. We chose the 1 hour/ 2 mile ride for beginners. My husband, myself and our 14 year old daughter enjoyed this experience. We had a lovely ride up the mountain, and down again. It had been a warm day, and the cool weather on the mountain was welcome. Michael was our guide, he was very personable, and informative about the area. Very beautiful, and horses were wonderful! Thank you Susan and Michael so much for such a memorable day!

I am glad that you enjoyed your ride enough to come back and ride again with us the next day. I am sorry that I came across as being rude to you . I never meant to be .Frankly I was a little shocked, we have never had people just get out of their car and put their kids on our horses with out talking to us before. I should have handled it a little better.I would like to try to make up for your bad experience here. The next time you are in our neck of the woods, give us a call, and we will take you out on a trail ride, free of charge. Michael Hagan
