My husband and I visited this fantastic winery today (August 21, 2014) and had a great time. The manager was very generous with his pours, and discussed at length each wine. Then we were fortunate enough to meet the owner/winemaker, Gary! He chatted with us for quite some time. The wines are absolutely wonderful and the view sets the perfect mood for wine tasting, whether you are inside or out. Be sure to visit them when you are in the vicinity, you, too, will be glad you did!We bought several bottles too.

It's been almost a year since our trip to Washington..but I have Leavenworth on my mind this morning. One of the most memorial moments from our trip was an afternoon at Silvara. The owner helped us and was very warm and welcoming. The wine tasting was exquisite and he even took us in back so we could get a few pics next to the wine barrels. Can't wait to go back.

Every time my wife and I make it to the Leavenworth/Wenatchee area we stop at Silvara. The property and the views it provides are very beautiful and relaxing. The senery in the summer is great, and in the winter we enjoy the large wood burning fireplace in the tasting room. The staff have always been extremely nice to us and knowledgeable about the wines, which are great. Many of the times that we have visited Silvara the owner/winemaker is there and he's been great to get to know over the years. He remembers my wife and I every time we see him so it's almost like visiting family. We have brought family and friends with us to Silvara on multiple occasions and everyone has a great relaxing time there. My 5 year old niece loves the wild flowers and the large open front lawn area where she likes to play while the adults are doing their thing. As long as my wife and I keep making trips to Leavenworth we will be making it a priority to stop at Silvara.

We has a great Spring visit at the winery and will definitely be back. Gary is the owner and winemaker and was a very gracious host. We enjoyed the Chenin Blanc the most. The view of the valley is very nice and if we could have sit and enjoyed a glass together and soaked it in.

I've been to the Silvara Vineyards tasting room often; I live in the Leavenworth zip code area and enjoy many of the local area wineries. The Silvara tasting room is a unique facility; it sits atop a gentle rise above the Wenatchee river. The views of the area are fantastic. But there's more here than just a place to enjoy the scenic country-side. The wines are award winning and delightful. We were just there last Sunday, April 6, and had the pleasure of being among the first to sample the new white wines. For a $5.00 per person fee you get to select five of the seven wines currently offered for tasting. The list starts with a crisp Sauvignon Blanc, has two Rieslings and a Chenin Blanc for whites and three reds, a "Red Blend" a wine called Quartette (this one is the biggest award winner of the wines) and a 100% Petite Verdot. All the wines are noteworthy and of top quality. All the wines are available by the glass. There is no food service of a traditional kind at the facility, but there is a refrigerator amply stocked with a small array of cheeses and cured meats one may purchase to enjoy with that glass of wine. Cheeses, meats and two kinds of crackers are of course priced individually. If you request it, the staff will open your wrapped items and plate them for you. As I said in my opening, I'm a local, I've been to the tasting room often, and I've even served as a 'fill-in' tasting room staff member; however, I want to make it perfectly clear, I am not an employee nor am I a shareholder, owner or in any other way an affiliate of the Silvara Vineyards winery.

First time I have been let down by a Trip Advisor review. In fact, this was such a horrible experience its the first time I have felt compelled to write a negative review due to the rude and possibly racist behavior. Based on previous reviews and its bucolic setting I chose to take my guests to Silvara Vineyards. We arrived Monday around 1 pm to an empty parking lot. We thought maybe it was closed, but the sign said they were open. We entered and found the space empty of people except a lone lady behind the counter. She was on a computer and on entering she offered no greeting, just looked up at us and glared as if we were disturbing her. We should have taken her rudeness as a warning and left, but we had taken the time to travel the from Leavenworth and the setting was nice so we naively stayed. When we walked up to the counter with a look of annoyance the lady got off her seat and came over to us. Again, she offered no greeting nor gave us any information on the winery. When we enquired about wine tasting her response was only “its $5 dollars per person” as if we were a bunch of freeloaders and that small price would send us packing. Foolishly we said yes, and though the room was empty with many tables and couches by the fire she did not offer us a seat to be more comfortable, but just placed our glasses on the counter where we were standing. Again, she never asked if we were familiar with the winery or gave us any background information, just handed us a paper with the wine information and began pouring or more accurately drizzling. I can only imagine the winery must be suffering from financial hardship, because the amount she poured was barely enough for one small sip. I have been to wineries all over the world and have never seen such a small amount poured. My guests were from Japan and would like to have bought a bottle to bring home but were so offended by the employees rudeness they refused. In full disclosure, we did have 2 small children with us but they were behaved and the sign out front said children were welcomed if accompanied by parents. Unfortunately, being short on time this was the only winery we had time to visit so could not try the other more convenient and friendlier tasting rooms I have been to in Leavenworth. We were in Leavenworth for 2 days and everyone from our hotel to the many shops and restaurants we visited were exceptionally hospitable, warm, friendly and to us which made the rude and inhospitable behavior we experienced at Silvara Winery all the more shocking. We look forward to returning to Leavenworth but not being masochist will avoid Silvara Winery.

If you are looking for a wide varieties of wines - this is not your place. If you are looking for some carefully crafted wines which have just been released and are unique to this winery - then you are in the right place. Silvara does not mass produce their wines and their distribution is limited - which makes it even more of a wonderful find. The staff is excellent - and they gave us the locations of two other wineries. Did I mention that their wines were wonderful? The facility is large, well appointed and has cheese and crackers available for sale. You could spend as little as a half hour - or a whole afternoon here, and you would not be disappointed. Go - it is worth your time.

One thing my husband and I love to do is find a nice winery and share a bottle of wine with a meat/cheese platter and just sit out on the patio. At Silvara vineyards, this is just the perfect place to have such the afternoon. We visited on an August Monday afternoon so it was quite slow. Only one staff member but her service was fantastic and we were in no rush.I would recommend this place. And if you're visiting Leavenworth...which only took us 1/2 day to browse through the quaint town, this is a great place to wind up afterwards.

We sampled the wines, enjoyed the Chenin Blanc the most. We sat out in front enjoying our wine and a smoked cheddar. We bought two bottles of the Chenin Blanc.

We had a wonderful visit to Silvara yesterday with two other couples. The setting is so nice, above the highway with a lovely view of the trains going by in the distance, the hillside and the Wenatchee River. Gary went above and beyond for our tasting, giving us thoughtful answers to our questions and teaching us in an unpretentious, down-to-earth manner. We decided to purchase a bottle of the 60/40 and bought salami, crackers, and a couple of cheeses from the cold case on site. Gary plated it for us and even included some tasty local cherries. We sat outside, enjoying our wine and treats. Eventually, Gary came outside and joined us, telling us more about the history of the winery and his journey into winemaking. All arrows point to this winery for great product, generous hospitality and a beautiful setting.

Wonderful wine tasting experience just minutes east of Leavenworth. The outside grounds are beautiful, with a fire pit, and plenty of outside seating. Perfect for a picnic on a warm summer day.We went with a large group in April, and it was raining, so we tasted wines inside. The inside of the winery is spacious and rustic. We chatted with the owner, and enjoyed hearing about the tasty wines from a friendly woman from Vancouver, WA.There is a reasonable tasting fee and this place is dog friendly! If you are looking for a change of pace outside of Leavenworth, I highly recommend Silvara Winery.

Since moving here from a large city, it has been difficult to find a place that my husband and I can escape to for a little luxury. Silvara's tasting room has fulfilled that need and so much more. It has been our go-to place when we have friends and family visit. They swoon over the views from the tasting room and love getting to taste wines that they can't get anywhere else. My husband and I are just lucky enough to live close by, so we can indulge in our favorite wines of the valley anytime we please. I highly recommend stopping in here, meeting the wine maker himself, and enjoying some wine by the fire. If you're lucky enough to go when the weather is nice, sitting out on their manicured lawn and sipping wine over the wildflowers and orchards is a one of a kind experience.

Came into town to enjoy wine in the area and was pleasantly surprised by what Silvara Winery had to offer. The winery had a quality selection of wine for it being still a young winery. Pleasant service and it tasting experience. The tasting room is large and enjoyable, even with the colder season it was delightful to taste wine by the fire. The winery would be a wonderful location for Weddings and business meetings. Next time I’m visiting Leavenworth I will be certain to make Silvara Winery a consistent stop.
