golf club at newcastle

I'm not a golfer so cannot comment on the quality of the courses. I have friends who golf there infrequently even though it is very close to home. Secondary complaint is that it is very windy and primary complaint is that the greens are not well thought out for enjoyable play. If you too are not a golfer, no worries. Golf Club at Newcastle has lots to offer. Sunsets are amazing. If you are in town and the weather is clear, you must go to the club and see the view. In fact, reserve a table at the restaurant, outside, or play a round of putt putt and enjoy. It is stunning! The putt putt course is a little-known benefit and has the same great view as the course. You do not have to be a member to putt putt or dine or drink there. Weddings are also very popular there. The quality of the food has gone up noticeably in the past few years. Try the French Dip and the Lobster Mac and Cheese. HH in the bar is a less than earnest effort, with a very small window for discounted food and drinks. Wine specials aren't worthwhile, usually served at the wrong temperature. Staff in the entire place is always very helpful, professional and cordial.Golf Club at Newcastle is a local gem, thanks to the foresight and investment of Scott Oki and his collaborators.

Tough golf course. This course for the most part will test you. Probably one of the toughest parts about this course is that you never really have a flat line. On a lot of holes you are playing with the ball either above or below your feet. If you are looking for a test, this is worth the trip. Pick your tees accordingly and pick off targets on the course. I play off a single digit and this course was a test. Once you have played it a few times you gain some familiarity and it becomes more playable. Coal creek is the longer of the two and definitely my favorite. Like most golf courses in the Pacific Northwest, the views are stunning. Note that this course is susceptible to fog, and you are more likely to experience fog delays.

Went here with a group from work. The ride out from the city is easy. The view is so spectacular. You can see the sound, the Olympic mountains, the Cascades and the city in the distance. It was great for a group event as it offered a full round of golf or miniature golf. We had a dinner event after which was very nice as well.
