We visited another winery in the area and weren't as satisfied. I liked this winery for the 2012 Zinfandel, and the DavenPort. It feels lively. We were greeted by a dog (Grand Pyrenees?) that looked like a big stuffed toy. We walked in and there was a painting class taking place as well as a crowd around the tasting bar. The service was terrific and we bought the wine.

We loved the experience. Coming from the East coast, it was such a refreshing change and the hospitality was so warm. Loved the wines, got 3 different Zinfandel's. So, it must be good.

This was a very pleasant visit. The tasting room is nothing fancy - it's a working winery. However, the wines and the staff were outstanding.Their focus is zinfandel, of which they had several. All were very good. They also had several whites - 2 were wonderful crisp wines that will be great with dinner. The other two were on the sweet side. On Saturdays they have music in the tasting room which added to the experience. A great tasting experience includes knowledgeable staff who can explain the wines and answer questions. That is what you you get here. If you are looking for a fun, educational wine tasting experience, stop in here. I think you will love.

We stopped for wine tasting, the wine steward was wonderful, and the wine maker was also present. They both gave the experience a personal touch and the fact they had a vested interest in the wine it added to the experience. I highly recommend making this stop.
