Only 3 holes have water, very few have bunkers, the course is pretty open, yet it has some challenging holes. The food is always good, and the staff is very friendly. I am proud to be a member of this course.

We were called only once to our tee time from the range and when we got to our added male twosome, we told them we didn't hear surnames called and asked if they had been. "yes" we were told without any eye contact and no introduction even though we introduced ourselves. So, we played with two no name guys who constantly played their forward balls even though they looked back and saw us in the fairway…they still hit away in front of us despite it being uncourteous and possibly dangerous. I often wanted to drill them and one time almost did. On the other hand, they did give us a bandaid when my friend cut her leg. Aside from that obvious anti-woman behavior, the course is in good condition and fun to play. The day was very hot and unfortunately there was only one place on the front nine to get water and the water bucket on the back nine was empty. the snack bar did give us a free glass of ice water which was much appreciated. I would play here again because the course is very nice, but the commute from Pleasanton is not agreeable. Bumper to bumper all the way home. I had fun but will choose a different course from now on. I have a 15 handicap btw and my female friend and I played quickly so men need not complain nor look down on women golfers like us.

This has become a regular place to play for my golfing buddies and me. The setting is peaceful and quiet in the hills of Milpitas. Aside from a couple of uphill climbs, it is walkable. The par is 70 and the course is not that difficult (especially after you learn the greens, as all is not as it appears to be). It is in good shape and the staff are very friendly. Since are golf group has grown, we are able to get 2 or 3 adjacent tees times. If you sign up as a regular player you can make tee times up to 9 days in advance and get points toward a free round of golf. As a "senior" the weekday walking rate (including Friday) is $28. Your green fee includes all day play, although you can't make a tee time for the 2nd round.

I agree with the golf course has wonderful views. I also agree it is a very peaceful place to play. It is a short course, a little less than 6200 from the tips, There were some dry spots but California is in a drought. The second hole was very unique and we figured out why the sign said "Hole Open For Play". Customer service at the Pro shop was outstanding. However I think the price paid is a little too steep. There is another course just a stone's throw away that has a better deal price wise and conditions and views are similar.

Spring Valley Golf Course is an enjoyable course to play with nice hill views and some water obstacles. Its an 18 hole golf course with some tricky greens. It has in the past been voted Best of the Bay to play. There is a nice pro shop and restaurant on site. Staff is friendly and helpful.
