After half a dozen visits, Valley View has become one of my favorite casinos. It's a lot closer than Las Vegas, and we can make it down there from Los Angeles in about two hours, although getting back can take a bit longer due to the heavier afternoon traffic.Although there is a large parking structure near the entrance, we always valet the car. Once you hand off your car, there’s no long walk to the casino as it’s right inside the nearby doors.Last time I spend most of my time in the smoking section because I was doing well on my favorite machine. The stench of cigarettes can get bad, but if you’re there early and there aren’t many smokers around it’s okay. If you’re really sensitive to that they do have a large non-smoking section. You don't get free booze here at Valley View the way you do at casinos in Las Vegas but there is free coffee, tea, and drinks available at self-serve stations on the casino floor. My girlfriend and I play enough here to get sent vouchers for a free lobster buffet, and I have to admit that's one of the major draws for me. The food at The Buffet really is surprisingly good for a buffet, and I always enjoy having lunch or an early dinner there. We have yet to stay in the hotel, but that may change soon. We’re thinking of spending the night and then visiting the picturesque town of Julian, which is about an hour drive to the southeast, the following day.

It's a casino with slot machines - somewhat crowded with ventilation that can be improved. The machines are old and there are not enough new dollar machines. Is it worth the drive? Barely. If you've driven here, you might as well drive to Harrah's in Valley Center, Pala Casino or even Pechanga in Temecula. Been here once, but not again.

No problem, but it is very busy on weekend nights. Great buffet! Get a reward card and at this time they are giving $50 cash, which you can gamble or eat!

Awesome food. Clean spacious rooms. Lots of comps. Excellent Customer Service, and a self serve refreshment bar.I'd left a brand new 24 oz. beverage bottle I had just purchased for $17- it was full of water. Realizing this, I'd gone to every seat I'd been at. Thought to ask the service staff if they'd seen anything, and one gal said, oh yes we found it--it had the # of the machine where it was found, the date and time, and my water container and I were united!

Went on line 01/31/2015 to check everything out before my friend and I went up there for my 70th Birthday. I saw nothing saying the FREE BUFFET and been stopped, anyway got there told no free BUFFET cost $32.99 each. and the FREE Money was from POINTS your earned by playing the slots. You have to spend $300 to get $10 free rip- off Those so call lose slots are anything but lose. I never saw a BUFFET that lied about it's food so bad.1. LOBSTER not like pic. can get only one at time the same with the Prime Rib 1 slice, Ribs Too2. Nice Choc. Fountain but nothing to put it on.3. There wasn't that much in the way of sweets maybe 15-20 and Ice Cream , food was cold when it should be warm.

Went here strictly for the lobster/sea food buffet. Got there just before 4 pm opening and got seated right away. The Maine lobster tails were not what I would consider great. (The lobster rolls at Lobster West in Encinitas taste better.) Shrimp came in 4 forms, all of which seemed frozen than thawed which makes them rubbery. Clam chowder had lots of clams but little seasoning. Krab salad was my favorite. Crab legs were good. Swordfish fillets were okay but not even warm.Designated Wife ate mostly non-seafood items and raved about the quality of everything she tried. A toothless person could chew the prime beef. We both thought the desert bar was excellent.I had been looking to this after reading it was so much better than any Vegas seafood buffet and was disappointed. Too pricy at $33 and too long of a drive from the coast (1 hour) for my taste .

The buffet here is the best. The variety, freshness and presentation is top rate! The hotel rooms are beautiful with great beds and great views. The non-smoking part of the casino is huge and has a wide variety of games and it's own Players Club station. The perks for the Player's club are easy to understand and include daily drawings, free T-shirts and a monthly gift. When I choose a casino, I choose Valley View!

I went here to try their slots. This was one of the tightest slots I've encountered. Very little activity. The casino is nice but don't expect to win much.

I can't say anything negative about the casino. We had a great time, huge television in the bar area, lots of machines, great restaurants, nice hotel staff, valets, and casino floor workers.

The Valley View Casino is one of the larger casinos in the area. They have a large non smoking area, and I saw plenty of empty seats throughout the casino. Free sodas for all to enjoy.

The buffet is one of the best. Food quality better than almost all in Vegas. Only 2 drawbacks. Must call ahead to find out how crowded it is, or plan accordingly, dinner time on Friday/Saturdays are packed. Recent expansion helps. Second issue is they only give you a half tail of lobster, so you must make several trips to the line. They always have plenty. If you're coming for the food, you won't be disappointed .

I had never been to this casino. They have a huge non-smoking section with tons of penny machines. Self-serve soda fountains located throughout the casino. The rooms were fantastic. Very large with 2 queen beds, desk with free wi-fi, table and chairs, sunken tub and shower. The ONLY thing missing was a coffee pot. But, lots of free bottles of water. The infinity pool and jacuzzi were beautiful. They had spa water available at the pool. The choices for eating were more than adequate. We ate at the cafe (BLD) for breakfast both days and the portions are large. We had the lobster buffet which had something for everyone. They only hand out 1 lobster tail at a time but you can go back as often as you want. It was a relaxing getaway.

So I visited this casino last year on my 24th wedding anniversary and posted the review, it was not that great. Yes there are a lot if nice amenities, there is free water (also available at Morongo) there is a very limited breakfast (think continental) in the room by the pool, it's not actually poolside, you want a great breakfast then I would suggest Pechangas bed and breakfast package which is room service. The lobster buffett has very small lobsters and nothing else memorable, every casino has a pretty decent buffett. My issue was that since we were guests of the hotel , we could get a little better service, WRONG. Yes, got to the head of the line but still had to wait for a server, plenty of vacant tables but no servers? Guess that's how they save money by not charging resort fees. Employees are rude and even when you have a Trip advisor badge on your luggage, that still doesn't motivate them. I conted customer service by email and did not get a response til 20 days later. This person continued to make poor excuses for the service and even told me if I could find a better casino out there, he'd give me a free stay, well I've been to many better casinos out there and he has not gotten back to me.
