This winery had the best wines we tasted on our trip to Amador County. This was a little out of the way in El Dorado county but worth the detour. Absolutely wonderful reds. Husband and wife who have run the winery for 27 years were our hosts and gave us generous pours of their best wines. Their wine was so good my traveling companion bought 3 cases of their holiday sampler and I ended up buying 7 cases to send to to friends. Great place to bring a picnic lunch and sit out on their patio overlooking their vineyards and vineyards on the far hill. They don't water their vines so their vines have deep roots and have developed special character.

On your tour of the El Dorado County wineries, you must stop and visit Scott Miller at his Single Leaf Winery! We spent an hour learning volumes about the wine making process and being entertained as well by this super-personable man. By the time we departed, we had made a new friend and found it hard to choose a favorite among his barrel aged wine tasting selections. His Zinfandel and Barbera are simply outstanding, but you just can't go wrong with any you might choose.

We have been wine club members at Single Leaf for years and they were the first we ever joined. We love everything about this winery :). The owners Scott and Pammie, Maxx their guard dog, the servers, the view, oh yes of course the wines as well.They will be celebrating their 20th year in business this year and have planned special celebrations for the Wine Club. Can't wait!

My wife and I have been to Single Leaf 5 or 6 times. We always include it when we go wine-tasting in the Fairplay area. The owners Scott and Pammie are great hosts and fun people and their dog Maxx is a very good welcomer. Plus the wine is very good, with the Chardonnay in the excellent category.
